The Key.

Jasmine POV

We are sitting down in the living room waiting for Cain to walk through the door.

The silence is so loud between us you would be able to hear a pen drop.

I look towards Zaiden and see that he is lying down with a hat over his face.

"Why are you staring at me?"

I flinch at Zaiden's question and quickly look away, "I wasn't looking at you."

He scoffs, "Yes you were."

Cain comes in with a pregnant Alazae.

She waddles over towards me and sits down beside me, "Hey, Jasmine."

She takes a deep breath and I place my hand on her belly, "Do you know the gender?"

She nods her head and smiles, "I do. I'm having a baby boy."

Cain stands in front of us and he bends down in front of Alazea, "You okay? Do you need or want anything?"

Alazea shakes her head, "No, I'm just ready to get to the juicy stuff. Go ahead and start."

She motions for Cain to stand up. Cain claps his hands, "Now, tell me what the hell is going on."

Fifteen minutes later we catch Cain up and he is leaning against the wall.

"We're working alongside the president, Zaiden has royal blood, Lyric and Zaiden are spellbound, and the whole reason why William may be coming for us is because he's heartbroken." Cain says as he runs his fingers through his hair.

He stands up and lets out a sigh. He walks towards Nancy and looks at Kade and Zaiden.

"I'm going to start with Nancy now."

Nancy looks at Cain with confusion, "Me?"

"Remember what you said to Kade?" Nancy tilts her head slightly, "What are you talking about?"

"You went into Kade's room and threatened him."

Zaiden laughs, "Bullshit."

Nancy looks at Zaiden, "I didn't threaten Kade, Zaiden. I made him a promise."

Nancy looks back at Cain, "I said whoever Kade decides to hurt he will always go against two."

Zaiden sits down beside Nancy and wraps his arms around her shoulders, "That sounds more like Nancy. I've always told Nancy we never make loose threats but make promises."

Cain laughs and then gives Nancy a look, "You go against Kade you go against me."

Nancy keeps eye contact and Zaiden stands up, "Are you threatening Nancy?"

Cain takes a step towards Zaiden, "Just like you I don't make threats, I make promises. Zaiden, Nancy, and Lyric I want you to hear me and hear me clearly. If you decide to go against Kade, Niall, or me, I will enjoy making you regret that decision. I will not risk you harming my family and if I have to end all three of you I will."

I look at Kade, "Is this necessary?"

He nods his head, "They need to know that they are not the only ones who would risk anything for anyone."

I look at Lyric and see that she is staring at Cain.

"Are we on the same page?"

Nancy and Lyric nod their heads and Zaiden laughs, "Cain, you amuse me as usual. We're on the same page for now."

Zaiden sits down between Nancy and Lyric.

"What plans have you come up with?" Cain asks while looking at all of us.

Kade taps my thigh motioning for me to talk.

"We decided that we're going to make a deal or a temporary truce with Estelle. She can tell us something about the spell that is binding Zaiden and Lyric. She may even tell us about their parents."

Cain looks at me and then at Zaiden and Lyric. He shakes his head and I stand up to object.

"No, Lyric and Zaiden being anywhere near Estelle is a risk we shouldn't take. You're going to go talk to your parents. Zaiden has to go since his contract will keep them from hiding anything."

I glance at Kade, "How about we go to Niall and ask his wife's parents about their time as royal assassins?" Kade questions.

Cain looks at Zaiden and then at Kade, "We can do that once we go see Jasmine's parents."

Alazae gasps, "Oh he must be enjoying the conversation."

She rubs her belly and Cain walks towards her and kneels in front of her. "You're going to be running things just like me, along with Lance."

Alazae kicks Cain, "You have to include Zelda. You can't leave her out."

Cain groans, "I'll think about it."

I smile at them and all of a sudden I feel arms around my waist.

"The way you're looking at them is making me think you want a mini-me."

Kade rests his face in my neck, "No, I just can't help but smile when I see them together. Niall, Haven, Cain, and Alazae are the normal couples."

He tightens his grip around me, "We're normal."

I hum and then laugh, "If you say so."

Cain clears his throat, "Now, Kade and Zaiden. From now on if you disagree, you will figure something else out other than holding a gun at each other. I don't care what you do, but showing the enemy that you're fighting is the weakest. It happens again and I won't just talk."

Zaiden laughs, "Do you think I'm going to just keep taking your threats, Cain?"

Cain laughs, "I don't give a fuck."

Something flashes through Cain's eyes, "I need you both to open your fucking eyes. It's not just you. It's not just me. You have people who will be affected if something happens to you."

He looks at Zaiden, "I don't care what you say. You will kill for Lyric and Nancy. If something goes wrong because you and Kade can't grow the fuck up you will feel something eating at you for the rest of your lives."

He faces Kade, "No more hiding feelings Kade. No more bullshit. You are not alone and you will never be alone. Zaiden and Kade open your fucking eyes. You two along with Lyric and Haven could be the key to ending this William and Estelle bullshit."
