when the car eventually stopped, aria had already fallen asleep. olivia got out first, taking their bags as she walked around to open the door. she placed a hand to aria's cheek, "wake up." she said softly, gently brushing her thumb across the girl's skin as aria slowly stirred. "are we here?" she asked, her voice still heavy with sleep.

olivia nodded, "yeah, we're here." the sun had already set, it was nearly ten pm. olivia helped aria out of the car as the girl stopped, staring up at the old house. it was definitely not the place she expected olivia to be raised in.

"you never told me you were rich." aria teased, the two of them starting to head up the stairs. "my mom is rich, im broke." olivia smiled softly, reaching to open the door.

she led aria up the winding stairs and into her childhood bedroom. the walls were painted black and red, posters covering most of it. olivia placed the bag down. "i think james might be asleep but wanna go check on him?" olivia smiled as she looked over at aria.

the dark haired girl nodded, seeming very excited at the thought of seeing the little boy. "does he have red hair?" aria asked as she followed the redhead girl out of the room.

olivia nodded, "the prettiest red hair ever." she whispered as she opened the door, they walked in silently as they reached his crib. he was fast asleep when they reached it. "i don't wanna disturb him." aria said but olivia shook her head, reaching over and picking the small boy up.

his eyes slowly opened and when he saw olivia, he giggled. "mama." he reached out to grab a fist full of her hair and she smiled at him. "hey jamie." she placed a soft kiss on his forehead.

"this is aria." she had an arm wrapped around his tiny body, "do you wanna hold him?" olivia turned to the girl and aria nodded softly. olivia gently passed the boy over to her, he was still smiling as she held him. "he's so beautiful." aria looked into his eyes and all she could see was olivia.

"he's very precious." olivia was practically beaming, the two people she loved most in the world were right next to her.

she heard someone at the door and turned to see her mom. "olivia, i didn't realise you were coming." diana stepped into the room, "and you brought a friend."

olivia hummed, "you remember aria, right?" she asked as the girl beside her rubbed james' back, the boy giggling in her arms.

diana crossed her arms over her chest, looking aria up and down, "yes, i remember."

diana never usually liked the people olivia associated with, they usually wore too much black eyeliner and she could tell they all were either stoned or about to get stoned. but aria didn't seem like her usual friends, she seemed well put together.

"j'espère que tu n'as pas l'intention de partager une chambre avec elle." diana glanced at her daughter who simply rolled her eyes.

"im gonna put james back to sleep, can you bring me a bottle?" olivia didn't even address her mother's concerns as the woman nodded and walked out of the room.

olivia held her arms out as aria handed the small boy over to her. "i failed french so what was that about?" aria watched as the girl moved over to the rocking chair.

"she doesn't want us to sleep in the same room." olivia stated, "can you hand me a blanket please." she added shortly after.

aria picked up the soft green blanket, handing it to her girlfriend. "well, im sure there are a few guest bedrooms." aria didn't mind not sharing a room with olivia, she didn't want to cause any problems.

olivia shook her head, holding the boy close to her. "my mom is full of shit and she doesn't tell me what to do." she hummed softly as she held him when her mother walked in with a bottle in her hand. "thank you." olivia smiled as she placed the bottle in his mouth.

diana looked at the two one last time before she walked out of the room. aria almost let out a sigh of relief, "there's something about her that just scares the shit out of me." she moved closer to olivia, looking over the girl's shoulder at the boy.

his eyes were wide open, staring up at olivia like she was the most important person in the world. "he had your eyes." aria could see olivia so clearly in the boy. "his dad's genes must not have been trying."

olivia barked out a soft laugh, "just like he never tries." but olivia couldn't judge him, she hadn't been trying all that much either.

for months while olivia was pregnant, she did online classes, never really going out. it wasn't her choice, her mother didn't want anyone to know about her pregnancy.

when james was finally born, olivia was sent away. diana said she adopted the boy after all her children had left the house. so according to everyone in pittsburgh, james was olivia's little brother, not her son.

"he's really gonna miss you when you leave." aria noted, watching as the boy finally closed his eyes. "im going to miss him... so much." that's all olivia ever did, she tried to not think about him but she couldn't help it.

"can't you do something? get him and just take him home with you." aria didn't want olivia to be away from him. "that would be kidnapping but when im eighteen im gonna try to get custody." olivia got up, placing the boy back in his bed as she held the bottle in her hand.

she looked over at aria as she placed the bottle down, "come on, let's go take a shower and get to bed." she placed a kiss on the girl's cheek and aria nodded. they left the room, slightly closing the door behind them so if he woke up again, olivia could hear him. and she could be there.
