sweat dripped down the redhead's face, a slight blush on her cheeks. the fact that she hadn't turned as red as a beet was shocking.
the coach had blown his whistle and it was the end of the first period and she needed a drink as she ran over to the bleachers. the crowd had been building over time and olivia found herself making her way to where wes, aria and her friends were sat.
"that girl tried to break your fucking arm!" wes scolded while aria placed a damp towel above the girl's brow, trying to cool her down while her brother did the complete oppissite.
"i may have hooked up with her girlfriend at our last game," olivia answered as her own girlfriend stared down at her, she gave the raven haired girl a big smile and leaned closer to her, "but that was before you and nothing before you really sticks out," the redhead stood on her toes, leaning up to place a kiss on aria's lips. it was the first time she was the one that looked up in the relationship and she didn't hate it entirely.
the sound of her team calling her back was what made olivia pull away from the kiss, she groaned against aria's lips who didn't mind the sound before the redhead gave her one last peck and made her way to her team.
that happened after each period, olivia would run to the bleachers. sometimes she'd have something to eat or emily would give her some pointers but every time she would just stand close to aria, as if the girl was her life line.
and when the game finally ended, rosewood beating the competition it was time for a few friendly handshakes. olivia should have known they wouldn't have stayed friendly, the girls from tree hill were far from friendly.
"good game," olivia took the tall blonde's hand into her own, ready to shake it when the girl gave it a tight squeeze. olivia looked down at their hands before looking up at the blonde, her name was maddie and she was not planning on letting go of olivia any time soon.
"do we have a problem?" a voice spoke up from behind olivia, spencer had been one step behind the redhead. the last person who would ever defend olivia and she was right behind her. maybe it was because olivia was dating her best friend or maybe because somewhere along the way, the redhead had grown on her, like a virus.
"i don't know, do we, maddie?" olivia didn't mean to sound smug but she was her mother's daughter after all.
the second maddie's right fist colided with the redhead's jaw, chaos ensued. the girls around them took it as a sign to get rid of some of their own rage, as if playing hockey wasn't enough.
olivia had been taken by surprise on the first hit and she wasn't gonna let it happen again. the coaches cried out for the violence to be put to an end but none of that mattered to olivia who finally had maddie pinned to the ground.
blood was dripping from her nose, her jaw stung but when her fist met with maddie's face, her made eased. she saw red, her knuckles coliding with the blonde's face until someone had grabbed her by her hair and pulled her away, another player's fist meeting her face.
it went on like that for what felt like forever until a bloody olivia and a bruised spencer were sat side by side in the nurse's office. "so that was your fault, right?" spencer had an icepack to her right cheek while olivia had one on her entire face. when she removed it, there was a red bruise blossoming on her jaw, a cut on top of her lip and it looked like the skin by her eye was turning a rather unpleasent shade of black.
"how is it my fault that some girl punched me?"
"one word; gigi." spencer looked over at olivia who groaned, placing the icebag back on her face. you kiss someone's girlfriend once and now your face is broken, karma really is a cruel mistress and olivia deserved her wrath. if maddie had kissed aria, olivia wouldn't be in the nurse's office, she'd probably be in jail.
