The Maine - i can't help myself
You say 'cause I'm a Leo,
I still don't know what that means
Hello! This is a one-shot for Our Hogwarts Legacy server on Discord this month! The prompt is 'What's Your Sign? SFW' and I figured it would be the best time to celebrate Rosie's birthday (July 25)!

In light of the last year, Rosalie River's life was looking quite different than she imagined. Her fiancé, Sebastian Sallow, was still working late nights at Saint Mungo's, but she hoped that would soon change after their marriage ceremony next month. It still surprises her how much they have changed and grown together — eight years in the making.
After working a full year at Hogwarts as a professor, Rose was able to relax during her summer holiday. She helped Anne and Grace take care of the children, being the best aunt she possibly could. She spent her days painting, and the nights cuddled with Sebastian (when he was home) and Willow. She enjoyed relaxing in the garden and basking by the shore. So many memories were already made here from years past; so many more memories were to be made.
But today was not a reflection of how wonderful her life has been.
Today was Rosalie's twenty-third birthday, and while she always loved her birthday, she was disappointed to be alone. Sebastian was working another long stretch, Anne and David were busy being parents — along with Ominis and Grace. Rosie didn't want to burden anyone. So all she had was herself, her paints and piano, and Willow.
She sipped away on her evening tea. The golden rays of the setting sun twinkled through the glass window. The paintbrush swished against the canvas creating masterful strokes. The sound of music swayed over the radio as Willow purred to its soothing tune. The smell of a freshly baked loaf of bread still lingered throughout the cottage.
She had every intention of spending her day alone with no distractions or disturbances until a knock came from the front door. Rose turned her head towards the sound; she began wondering if she was hearing things. She wasn't expecting anyone to stop by. Then she heard it again followed by hushed whispers.
With an arched eyebrow, Rosalie gripped her wand and quietly crept over to the door. She swung it open with such force, it startled the two girls standing in front of her. An awkward moment of silence followed by the realization that it wasn't a stranger nor two at her door, but a fiery red head and a sweet brunette.
"Heather, Lacy?!" Rosalie let out with confusion and excitement. "What are you doing here?"
"We wanted to surprise you for your birthday," Heather announced.
"Yes, so...surprise!" Lacy shouted, placing an arm around Rose and carefully balancing a square box in her offhand.
"Merlin, I wish I knew you two were coming. I would've made more tea or a proper dinner or-"
"It your birthday, relax," Heather laughed as she let herself inside.
"I have such a mess! My oils and paints, I really should-"
"Relax, Rose! We're here to celebrate you, not become so worked up over your spotless and perfect home."
Rosalie took a deep breath and exhaled with a smile. "If I must."
