A Baby For Kydd

4. One Month..

As Kydd and Rumour sat outside eating lunch they talked.
" I can't believe you two have been dating almost a month now."
She couldn't believe it either.
He was amazing boyfriend.

" So, Taylor is coming back soon. "
Whoa, she hadn't thought about Taylor in a while.
" Really? How is she feeling? "
Rumour took a second to swallow her pizza.
" Well Maggie told me that, she's getting better. And she should be home and back in school next week."
Kydd wondered what she should do? If she would be okay seeing her and Cobain dating.

As they walked to art a couple of eleventh grade girls shouted out. " Hey Kydd! "
She had suddenly become so popular. She waived at them. It only took less than a few weeks. Before everyone was saying Hello and waving at her. But that was expected when you're dating one of the hottest eleventh graders guy.

As she sat in art. She got a text from her one and only.

-- You. Me. Ice cream? You down?

-- Good pick up up after 5 pm I got a surprise for you?

What could he have in surprise for her.
Maybe he would tell her during gym. Which has now became her favorite subject. Despite the fact she got hit by a softball.
" What are you thinking about Kydd? "
Rumour asked.
" Gym.. "
She smiled as looked at her friend with a big smile.
Rumour rolled her eyes.
" Hey, since it's Friday night do you want to hang out maybe go to the mall? "
" I can't, Cobain is taking me out. I think he's going to celebrate our one month anniversary! "
" Oh... "
Kydd could see the hurt on Rumours face. Since her and Cobain started dated she turned down a lot of hanging out chances with Rumour.
" How about Saturday? Cobain works during the day. We could go watch a movie? My treat.. "
As both the girls agreed. They waited for the bell to ring.

He came up behind her wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck she giggled.
He kissed her cheek a bit more. " Baby I can't wait for tonight! You're going to love it! "
He smiledm " I love everything you do for me! "
He pulled her close and kissed her lips.
She wondered what the surprise would be.
He snuck one last kiss in before having to join the rest of the guys. They were going to the weight room to lift. And the girls were stuck playing volleyball.

" You don't think he's going to propose sex tonight do ya? "
Rumour asked as they stood in line for volleyball.
" What? No! "
Kydd's voice yelled out. Everyone turned to look at the two girls in the back of the line. They stood there awkwardly.
In a hush whisper Rumour said " I don't think China heard you.. "
Kydd blushed. " He knows I'm not ready for that yet.. "
Rumour tilted her head.
" The boy does have a reputation ya know.. "
Kydd thought to herself. It was true, a couple of weeks after dating him. She learned he had a habit of dating girls and sleeping with them before a month or after a month. She learned it from bubble gum girl. Who she learned her real name was Veronica. Not bubble gum girl. Her exact words were.
" Listen girl, Cobain ain't a sweet talker for anything if he's sweet talking it's to get into those tight little shorts. If it does happen get yourself on some birth control. He doesn't like condoms. "
Kydd shudders as she remembers that conversation.
Birth control and condoms in the same sentence? Her mother would have had a heart attack. Especially if she heard that kind of talk come out of a young girls mouth. But even after bubble gum girls warning she still found herself draw to Cobain. And he knew she was different. And he liked that about her, but she couldn't help shake it what if he was wanting sex now? What would she tell him? Would she have the courage to walk away? Could she be strong enough to say no?
No! She thought, she would stick to her values no matter what!

Kydd looked at Rumour " No, matter what happens tonight I'm going to stick to my values. I have my own reputation to hold up. "

At the last final bell she walked out front to meet her brothers so the three of them could wait for the bus together. Although normally they would ride with Cobain or their older bother Matthew would pick them up. They sometimes road the bus.
Today was just one of those days.
She slumped down into the seat..
Could everyone be right could Cobain want her to give it up tonight?
