A Baby For Kydd

It was Christmas morning. And Kydd as well as her family and friends sat in her living room opening gifts.
It now marked 4 weeks since Kydd had seen or spoken to Cobain. She tried to be festive but lately all she was feeling was tired and run down.
She lost her appetite. When her mother asked what was wrong she finally fessed up and said " Cobain and I broke up. "
Her mother hugged her tight and didn't say anything but " I'm here if you need to talk. "
She shrugged and muttered " Thanks.. "
What was there to talk about?

Everyone was basically right? Her boyfriend was a cheating pot head?
She felt so stupid. Everyone had warned her and now they were all probably laughing behind her back.
She couldn't call Rumour they hadn't spoken since she texted her about how Taylor needed her as a friend. And of course Kydd felt betrayed so she told her to lose her number.
And she couldn't call Mia or Dylan. After the whole Cobain accident they tried to comfort her. And she told them they could never understand how she felt they didn't have anyone who loved them.
She pushed everyone away.

By New Year's eve Kydd was ready for change.
Something had to give.
It now marked 5 weeks since she stopped talking to Cobain.
He texted her still. Begging for another chance. Begging her to forgive him. But how could she.
She wondered if she was being to hard on him..

The bell rang the first day back to school and Kydd was sick.
And she was about to get sicker.

" Baby girl.. "
She tried to walk away but of course he caught up to her.
He pulled her arms.
But she didn't look at him.
" Look at me, please! "
She pulled away.
" Kydd! "
" I'm a child remember? "
He let her go.
" Kydd, I'm not perfect okay? "
He took a deep breath.
" I make mistakes, I just.. I, I, look I don't know why I do the things I do Kydd. "
She started to walk away.
She didn't feel so hot.
" Kydd, wait let me finish."
It wasn't going to wait.
She ran to the girls bathroom.
And he ran in after her.

They sat on the bathroom floor and he held her.
She hugged him tight as he rocked her.
" I'm sorry I make you sick. "
She shook her head.
" You're disgusting. "
He grabbed her sides.
" Yeah, but you love me."
She did. She kissed his lips but he pulled away.
" Baby girl, I love you, I really do but I'm not interested in tasting your breakfast."
She laughed and he handed her some gum. She rinsed out her mouth and put the fresh gum in her mouth.
" Better.. "
He leaned forward and kissed her soft lips. She had missed those lips.
She wrapped her arms around him. " Don't ever leave me again okay? "
He picked her up and squeezed her tight.
" I wouldn't dream of it. "

She hopped now that Cobain was in her life her appetite would return and this heart broken sickness would go away.

But it was far from over..
