Jaime's POV:
I glanced over at Vic, averting my eyes again when he looked up. We had been on the road for a few hours now, it was 12am. The four of us were watching a movie together, but I couldn't help but steal glances at Vic. After all, it had only been a few hours since we kissed. Calling it a kiss felt like an understatement, I had never experienced something so perfect. It scared me how strong my feelings for him had become, he could break me at any moment, he had me in the palm of his hand. Both Tony and Mike burst out laughing at something in the movie, I hadn't been paying enough attention to get it and apparently neither had Vic.
"What's wrong with you two sad cases?" Mike asked, noticing we weren't laughing with him.
"Maybe not everyone has the same immature humour as you, Mike" Vic said back.
I let out a laugh and shot a look at Tony, both of us knowing we were about to witness a Fuentes brother argument. I guess you could say they happened often, I suppose it was to be expected, two brothers living under each other's feet like this, but they never lasted long. Besides usually they were over something stupid, like Vic taking too long to get ready or Mike borrowing Vic's laptop - silly stuff like that. By this stage, Tony and I knew not to get involved, instead we just let them fight it out between themselves.
"Oh I get it, you're one of your feminine mood swings again" Mike shot back.
After a few immature comebacks, they both shut up and carried on watching the movie - as if the last five minutes hadn't just happened. It was better this way.
~
It was 2am and we had all retired to our bunks. Luckily we weren't playing until 7pm tomorrow, so we could sleep in until as late as we wanted. Which was lucky, because I wasn't getting to sleep any time soon. I couldn't stop thinking about my situation with Vic, I needed to talk to him. I crept out of my bunk, as my feet hit the ground I tried to keep the thud to a minimum - negatives of having a top bunk. I pulled across the curtain where behind lay Vic's bunk, I just hoped he wasn't asleep yet.
"Vic?" I whispered.
"Jaime?" He whispered back, sounding confused.
"Can we talk?" I asked.
"Sure" He answered.
He moved overslightly, so I could lay next to him in the bunk.
"I'm guessing this is about earlier" He said.
I nodded, "The thing is, you know where I stand in all this, you know my feelings. When you ran off when I told you, I thought it was one sided but we can't have a moment like earlier and expect me to believe you don't feel anything for me".
He looked down, playing with his duvet. Almost as if he was trying to psyche himself up for what he was about to say.
"You're right, I do like you. That night when you told me, I came back to tell you I felt the same way, but then you had that phone call and I couldn't spring it on you then" He said.
I felt my heart thud heavily in my chest, what did this mean? Were we together?
"So what does this mean?" I asked, unable to hide the growing grin on my face.
"I guess we're together" He replied, practially mirroring my exspression.
"Okay" I grinned. "But we need to take this slow, because no matter what I don't want this to ruin our friendship. And maybe we shouldn't tell the others, just for a while though".
"Mike kinda already knows, I spoke to him about when I first started getting feelings for you. But he doesn't have to know we're together, not yet" Vic smiled.
"Good, it'll be like a test run" I grinned.
Vic's face met mine, delicately pressing his lips against mine. One thing was for certain, I wasn't going back to my own bunk tonight.
