Clyde's disappointment grew as Dr. Guy once again returned with the news that they were also out of vanilla scent. At this point, Clyde was starting to feel frustrated. All he wanted was to have a pleasant scent to help him relax during the surgery, but it seemed like nothing was going his way.
Dr. Guy could see the frustration on Clyde's face and quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, Clyde. I know this must be frustrating. Is there another scent you would be okay with?"
Clyde took a deep breath and thought about his remaining options. He wasn't a fan of banana or plain, and chocolate seemed a bit too strong for his liking. Sighing, he settled on plain.
Dr. Guy fitted the plain mask over Clyde's face, making sure it was comfortable and secure. Though it wasn't what Clyde had hoped for, he tried to focus on the bigger picture—the surgery that would soon alleviate his pain and discomfort.
