"Dear God,

"I'm twelve today. You heard the commotion downstairs, didn't you? That was because mom said she'd hold a party and she did.
My brother bought me a dress. A lovely blue. Mom cracked her happy laugh when she saw it. She said most boys never made right decisions when it came to shopping for anybody else.
Dad told me he'd buy the cake, but mom was insistent on making one herself.
God, I saw the cake and my eyes popped out. It was beautiful, my name in big, red letters piped on top of it.
And while no one was watching, I ate one of the chocolate curls. Did you notice? Mom says you see everything.

When it was time to make a wish, everyone asked me what I'd wish for.
I told them it was a secret because if given out, it wouldn't be granted.

"And I'm telling you because...I know nobody else can help me out.

"See, just like every year this day, my wish was this.

"Please let me find God."
