I woke up and took a shower. I got dressed in some clothes and started on my makeup. I avoided my bandages on my nose, as I did my makeup. I finished up and grabbed my backpack. I walked out of my room and proceeded out the house. I started to walk to school while listening to some music. It was Voodoo by Ghost Town.
I walked in the school and walked to my locker. I put my stuff in it and closed it. I started to walk to class but was stopped by Savannah.
"Did your mother do that?" Savannah snickered. I looked at the floor and started to finish walking into my English class. I walked all the way in the back, at the last chair near the window, and sat down. I started to sketch a bit on my paper I had out in case for notes.
"What happened to your nose?" Jade asked me.
"You'll probably hear about it." I said.
"You mean what Savvanah and Drake said about your Mom was true?" Alex asked. I looked down.
"Yes." I said, ashamed.
"She broke your nose?" Andria asked. I nodded. I started to feel the tears come out of my eyes but I willed myself to stop. I've gone through this for more than two years. I can't cry. I must stay strong.
"Yes." I said as I looked up. Their faces were all in pity. I hate pity. I despise it.
"I'm going through having an abusing mother, too." Miles said. I gaped at him. He is abused?!
"I used to go through it when I was in the old foster home...." Pierce said. I gaped at him too. He's an orphan?! And he was abused?! I knew they couldn't have had perfect lives...but I didn't expect that much...

I accepted the apple Jade offered me as we were walking back from lunch. I ate it, then I felt my stomach start to hurt and I felt it rising up. I quickly turned into the bathroom and hurried to an open stall. As soon as my face was over the toilet, the apple came up and went in the toilet. I felt someone hold my hair back. I finished throwing up and leaned up. The person handed me a tissue and I wiped my mouth. I then looked up to see the familiar blue eyes of Pierce's. I walked over to the sink and rinsed my mouth out with water.
"Thanks." I said. "Where's Jade?"
"No problem. Jade went to class already since I told her I'll help you." Pierce said. I nodded.
"Are you feeling better?" Pierce asked. I nodded.
"We should go to class now." Pierce said. "Before I get in trouble for being in here." I nodded.
We walked to class and Pierce explained to our teacher that I wasn't feeling so well so he'd take me to the nurse office. The teacher accepted and handed us a pass. We walked out of the classroom. We walked down the hall a bit before Pierce turned into another hall.
"This isn't the way to the nurse," I pointed out, confused.
"I know," He replied. He glanced at me and saw my hesitation. "Trust me."
"Okay, I trust you." I spoke.
I followed him through different turns before we got to a door. He pulled out a key and opened it. Inside were stacked books on bookshelves, and some school supplies. In the back of the small room was another door. Pierce grabbed a set of keys hanging on the wall and unlocked the door, opening it.
"Ladies first," He said, holding the door open for me. I walked through and he walked in after me, grabbing a flashlight first. He went ahead of me, turning on the flashlight. We walked down a set of stairs before walking straight.
"What is this?" I asked.
"I'm not really positive. I found it one day when I was roaming the halls and had to hide from a teacher." Pierce said. "I think it might have been used for janitors to get to another area fast, like when the school was first built."
We walked a bit more until we reached a door. Pierce unlocked the door, opened it and light flooded in. It led outside. he let me out first then followed.
"And this is now how I ditch school," Pierce explained.
"Aren't Jade and everyone going to wonder where we are?" I asked as we walked out of school premises.
"Nah, I told Jade to not look for us." Pierce explained. I nodded and we were silent for awhile as we walked.
"Where are we going?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.
"The park." Pierce simply replied. I nodded and we continued walking.
When we arrived at the park, there was no one in sight. Thats not unusual, since kids are at school and adults at work. We walked over to the swings and I sat down.
"Want me to push you?" Pierce asked. I nodded and he got behind me. He grabbed the chains and pulled it back as he walked backward. He pushed on my back, letting go. I went forward, unbending my legs like you're supposed to. I came back down, and he pushed me again. As he repeated over and over, I got higher and soon he went and sat next to me.
I shouted 'weee' like a little kid as I swung, having more fun than I've ever had since my sister died. Pierce started swinging and caught up to me.
"Let's jump." Pierce suggested.
"What!" I replied, shocked and fearful at the idea of jumping off.
"Come on, its fun!" Pierce exclaimed.
"Okay, fine." I agreed.
"One, two, three!" We jumped off at the same time. I landed with a roll before bumping into him. We hit our heads together and both said ouch at the same time. We then started laughing in sync.
"That was fun!" I admitted after we calmed down.
"See? I told you." Pierce said. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. I felt my stomach whirl, but not in a bad way. It was actually a good way, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.
"Want to go up in the playhouse?" Pierce asked. I nodded eagerly and we raced to the playhouse, like little kids. We climbed up the stairs and swung ourselves through the monkey bar obstacle. We climbed up the 'toilet pole' which was a pole with a swirly pole around it as steps. We made it to the top, where there was a little hideaway, which was pretty big for a playhouse. We went inside and sat next to each other. Pierce pulled out a needle and started carving something into the plastic.
Pierce & Amber were here.
"So original," I commented sarcastically. Pierce rolled his eyes at me.
"Hand me it?" I asked about the needle. He handed it to me, curious on what I was to do with it. I started etching somethign into the plastic and when I was done I pulled away to let Pierce look. It was a realistic heart, sewed up.
"Wow, good at drawing and etching," He complimented. "Wonder how good you are at spray paint graffiti."
"Never tried it," I said, laughing a bit. We then sat in silence before Pierce pulled out his phone. He put on some music, which he chose You're So Creepy by Ghost Town.
"Nice choice," I said. He nodded and we listened, humming a bit. Without control I started singing my favorite part, the chorus.
"Creepy girls~You're just my style~Blood-red lipstick~You don't smile~Falling victim to your fantasy~Damn, I love it that you're so creepy." I sang. i then realized I was singing and my eyes widened.
"S-sorry!" I apologized. Pierce shook his head.
"Don't apologize, you're really good." He complimented. i blushed a bit. "Sing as much as you want." I shrugged and continued.
"Creepy girls~You're just my style~Blood-red lipstick~You don't smile~Falling victim to your fantasy~Damn, I love it that you're so creepy." The song ended abruptly, going off with I'm Not A Vampire by Falling In Reverse. Pierce clicked on it, then put it to his ear. A call.
"Hello?" He spoke. Someone replied, but I couldn't hear.
"Yeah." Pierce said. They replied again.
"Okay, bye." He said before hanging up.
"Schools out so we should go." He said. I nodded and we slid down the fireman pole that connected to the hideaway. We walked out of the park and headed to the community. I directed us toward my block.
"You can go, I can walk home." I said when we got there.
"No, I'm not letting you walk alone. It's dangerous." Pierce insisted. i gave up and we walked to my driveway. He walked me to the door and we said goodbye. He left as I walked inside.
"Who was that?" My mother snapped, holding a bottle of whiskey in her hand.
"A friend." I replied, goign to my room. She grabbed my black hair and pulled me back.
"Don't leave when I'm talking!" She snapped.
"I can do what I want!" I yelled at her. She swung at me with the bottle of whiskey, but I dodged. A man walked into the room.
"Woah whats going on babe?" He slurred to my mother. She glared at me and replied.
"I was just dealing with my daughter." She slurred back. The man stared at me, looking em up and down. I shivered in disgust.
"She's a looker. takes after you babe." He said. I mentally threw up and turned, heading away.
"Amber!" My mother snapped. "Do not leave when you are being spoken to!" I ignored her and walked to my room. She must have been too busy with the dude because she didn't follow. I heard them giggling and other stuff, but I blocked it out with music.
