Prom night. The night when every girl has an excuse to dress up in an expensive glittery dress, put on some expensive heels, get their hair and makeup done, and feel like an expensive model. The night every boy has the excuse to seduce their girlfriends into doing it that night.
But, for me; prom night was a night to forget my problems and have fun partying with Evan. It was a chance to start having fun in my life. Something that needed to happen for me.

"You look amazing," Evan complimented when I came out of my room, and she came out of the bathroom. I looked at her outfit, amazed at how well her dress fit her.
"You look amazing too." I said, smiling. I glanced at my phone, seeing we should be going soon. "Let's get this party started."
She linked her arm with mine, making me laugh as we walked downstairs. My sister and father were standing at the bottom of the stairs, smiling. Lana's eyes widened in amazement at the beauty of our dresses.
"You look so beautiful. You both do." My father spoke, proudly smiling. Since I had been hanging out with Evan often, my father saw her as another daughter. I never met Evan's parents and she never mentions them, so I don't ask.
"Thanks dad." I smiled as we stopped at the bottom of the stairs. He pulled out his camera and began taking pictures of us two. I smiled widely as the flashes went off, trying not to flinch at the brightness of the flash. Once my dad took enough pictures, he opened his arms for me to go in them.
"My little girl has grown up." he spoke. Lana cleared her throat, making my dad chuckle and rephrase his words. "My older little girl has grown up."
I pulled away from the hug to see Evan grinning and holding back her laughter. I rolled my eyes at her then looked back at my dad.
"We have to go in order to make sure we're outside for the limo." I said. My dad nodded and hugged me again before walking us to the door.
"Have fun and don't get into trouble." He said.
"We'll stay out of trouble," Evan grinned. We walked to the driveway and my dad watched as the limo drove up and we got in. The limo was white and inside was gigantic. There was some other kids from around this neighborhood who were with their dates. They all looked amazing. They made room for us too and a few of the girls, some from my classes, complimented our dresses and my hair.
"When?" This one girl, Stephanie, asked.
"Yesterday while we were dress shopping." I smiled.
"You went dress shopping last minute?" Another girl, Lucille, asked. I nodded and she looked like she didn't believe us. I shrugged and enjoyed the sparkling cider and the rest of the ride to the winery prom was held at.

Once we arrived at the winery, we all got out. I stared in amazement at the lit up winery. Evan pulled my arm, dragging me to the ticket stand, where we handed our stubs.
"This looks amazing." Evan breathed out. I nodded, remembering the plan I set in action a few weeks ago. And if it works; someone special should be here for Evan. I just hope it works.
"Wanna dance?" I laughed out as our favorite song Animals by Maroon 5 played. She nodded and we headed to the dance floor, dancing to the beat. The music was loud and was everything I could hear, but each song that came after was a good choice. So it wasn't until an hour later when Hello by Adele came on that we decided to leave the dancing couples and get punch and snacks.
"I'm glad dinner and dessert come with the tickets." Evan spoke thankfully as we got some of the spaghetti. I nodded and laughed, wondering when she would arrive. She; as in the surprise.
We continued eating but occasionally went out and danced but mainly sat around chatting. We were having fun, and that was all that mattered. We talked about planning a road trip to California, New York, and all over the country.
"I wish they played some Ivan Michael." Evan sighed dreamily. I internally smirked and stood up. "Where are you going?"
"The bathroom," I lied. She nodded and I walked into the crowd, the direction to the bathrooms. As soon as I was hidden, I turned to the stage. I walked to the dj.
"Can you play Ivan Michael?" I asked.
"I have a few requests next but I'll play them afterwards." He replied. I nodded and walked away, back to our table.
"That was quick." Evan commented. I shrugged and sat down, going back to chatting to her about graduation and our future. I wanted the requests before mine to hurry up but it was on the first request after I talked to him. Thousand Years by Christina Perri. It was a great song but not one Evan or I wanted to dance to, so we just softly sang along to it, sipping punch.
The next song was Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy. It was the second time I have heard the song, the first for Evan it seemed since she was listening intently like she does to new songs. She looked into the song, and she pulled out her phone. I looked over to see her searching the lyrics, coming up with Almost Lover. She screenshotted the web page and closed safari. She put her phone away and looked at me.
"That was a nice song," She commented as I See Fire by Ed Sheeran came on. We both were too lazy to get up and dance for that song, even though we wanted to; so we just sat and sang along. The same thin happened to Photograph by Ed Sheeran. And at that moment I knew my request was coming up. I just hoped her surprise would come at the same time...so it would be extremely special for Evan. She deserved a special night and a special person to help share it, other than me.

As soon as Forever by Ivan Michael, Evan's favorite song by her idol and the boy she stalked for a years, came on she dragged me to the dance floor, screaming in joy. His song Forever was one of his many beautifully written and sung, but not the only.

Wide open eyes in the night,

why aren't you sleeping?

Your face is lit from the light,

why aren't you sleeping?

Can I see those pretty eyes,

can you look at me?

Can I see past those lies,

can you look at me?

Darling, why aren't you sleeping?

Can't you see me?

Please stop your weeping,

Can't you see me?

Can I hug you real tight,

can you feel me?

Can we never fight,

can you feel me?

Can I taste the coffee on your lips,

do you still drink it before bed?

I can remember those little sips,

do you still drink it before bed?

You haven't seen me in months,

but I have yet to leave.

You haven't held me in months,

but I have yet to leave.

Darling, can't I have one last night,

why can't we be forever?

The light is so bright,

why can't we be forever?

Please, why are you fading away,

can't I stay with you?

Why is everything lit up like day,

can't I stay with you?

Your beautiful face,

I want to see it again.

Your beautiful eyes,

I want to see them again.

Darling, why can't I stay,

I want to be forever.

Why do I have to be away,

I want to be forever.

As soon as the song was over, Evan was starting to cry. I pulled her away to a corner so no one would see her crying. "T-that was o-our song." She sobbed. I hugged her and she hiccuped. "I just m-miss her so much and w-wish she'd try to make things better. But it's so h-hard because we've never met and p-probably won't since neither of us want to m-make up." "Evan..." I began. "She's-" Before I could finish, I was cut off by a familiar voice. "Amber?"

A/N Next chapter is the last! And ooh who is the familiar voice? By the way, Forever is actually a poem I wrote and it's been copyrighted here on Wattpad, so don't steal it. :) I may sing it one day.
