I missed school. I managed to stay unconscious into the next day, and missed school. But soon I woke up to a harsh kick to my side and spit covering my face.
"Answer your phone, whore." My mother ordered, kicking my side again. She threw my phone at my face and left. I looked at the ID to see it was Pierce. I clicked answer.
"H...Hello?" I weakly greeted.
"Amber! What happened, why aren't you at school??" Pierce asked, worried.
"Was sick," I lied, coughing. He said a short 'oh' and we were silent.
"Are you feeling better?" I shrugged painfully then remembered he can't see.
"I don't know..." I replied.
"Can I come get you to come over?" I cleared my throat.
"No, I'm going to rest." I replied. He sadly said 'okay' and we hung up. I attempted to get myself up but winced in the internal pain. My arm and wrist were stabbed with pain. I groaned and forced myself up, ignoring the pain. I noticed I was still in the living room, where I had been beaten to unconsciousness last night. I limped to my room, avoiding my mother and Stan. Before I reached my room, I noticed my mother's purse wide open on the counter. Inside of it was the familiar wallet that had caused my beating last night.
I held back curses and walked into my room. I collapsed on my bed, which made my body pain even more. I lifted up my shirt to a huge bruise covering my stomach and sides. I adjusted my position a bit and winced at the pain it caused.
"Maybe I should go to the hospital..." I thought out loud. I then heard a door slam and the laughter of my mother and Stan from outside before her car doors closed. The car started up and I heard them drive off. I tried to sit up again but couldn't. I lifted my phone up and sighed, dialing 9-1-1.
"911, what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
"My mother isn't home, someone broke in and beat the shit out of me. I just woke up and I managed to get to my room. I'm badly injured." I lied the best I could.
"An ambulance is on it's way," The operator replied.
"Thank you," I said. I hung up and waited in silence before hearing the sirens. I heard the front door being broken down and someone came and opened my door.
The officer spoke in his walkie talkie and then came over to me.
"We will be bringing you to the hospital, ma'am." He stated. I nodded weakly and two men with a stretcher came in. The picked me up, me wincing to the pain, and laid me onto the stretcher. The brought me out of the house and got me into the ambulance. They hooked me up to machines and closed the back door, two nurses staying. The ambulance roared to life and I felt it moving.
"What happened?" A young boy nurse, who looked in his early twenties, asked me. I shook my head so he checked my vitals instead. The other nurse examined my bruises, lightly pressing them, making me wince.
"Let's give her the numbing solution." The other nurse ordered the boy. He nodded and grabbed something from a drawer. I looked at it to see a syringe. He filled it with some liquid and came over to me.
"No, please." I freaked a bit. The other nurse held me, while the boy pressed the syringe into my stomach. I instantly felt my stomach slowly start numbing. My vision blurred a bit, a reaction to the solution. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Doctor, the patient is waking." A female voice spoke. My vision was blurred as I slowly opened my eyes. It cleared up and I saw a brunette short haired nurse and a female blonde doctor.
"Miss Willows, do you know where you are?" The doctor asked. I nodded.
"The hospital?" I replied.
"Yes, do you remember why?" She asked.
"My stomach..." I replied. I sat my hand on my stomach and winced.
"Careful, Miss Willows. You are heavily bruised and will need to rest for a week. I have a note for your school." The doctor said. "You have a friend who wants to drive you home. I will allow, if you confirm it. He says his name is Pierce." I nodded. "Okay, let me get your papers done."
"We will get your friend," The nurse said. I nodded and they both left. Soon Pierce walked in and hurried to my side.
"Why didn't you tell me Amber??" He shouted. I frowned and he sighed. "Don't lie to me next time...it could've been worse..."
"Okay..." I said. I stayed silent. He's bring me home...to my mother...
"I'm not taking you to your house," He said, like he was reading my mind. "My foster mother said you could stay for awhile."
"Thank you..." I said. He nodded and the nurse came back in. She rolled a wheelchair over and helped Pierce get me seated in it.
"Doctor Webs got your papers situated." She led us out and to the lobby. I signed some papers, received medicine and then we were off. Pierce got me into the front seat and put the chair folded in the back. He drove away from the hospital and to his house.
"How many days of school did I miss?" I asked.
"A few, it's Friday." He said.
"Oh...." We pulled up to his driveway and he got out. He got the wheelchair and unfolded it, then helped me into it. I winced a bit but stayed silent.
"You okay?" He asked. I nodded and he rolled the wheelchair to the door. He opened it and got the chair inside. "You'll be staying in the guest room. Is that okay?"
"It's more than okay. You guys don't have to let me stay here..."
"Nonsense," Pierce's foster mother spoke from the kitchen. "We're glad to have you here, Amber." I nodded and Pierce got me upstairs and to the guest room. It was right across from his room. He helped me up and onto the bed. He sat the television remote on the bedside table along with a water bottle and phone charger.
"I managed to get in and get some stuff for you from your house." He stated. "Your mother wasn't home and the door was down..." I winced at the thought and knew when my mother found out, she'd be pissed.
"Th..thanks." I said. He nodded and moved the wheelchair to the side of my bed.
"Do you need anything. Food? Movies? Games?" He asked.
"Can we...can we watch a movie?" I asked. He nodded and smiled.
"Another horror?" He asked, his eyes twinkling. I shrugged and laughed softly. He playfully winked and quickly left to get a movie and snacks. While he was gone, I stared at the ceiling. There was no stars on this ceiling...so I would not see any glowing stars at night. I sighed sadly at the thought. To be honest, I'd feel comfortable with those stars.
"What's wrong?" Pierce asked, walking in. I shook my head, still staring at the ceiling. "You like the stars on my ceiling, don't you?" I softly nodded.
"I'll ask my mom. We have some extras so it shouldn't be a problem." He smiled at me. My heart melted in bitter happiness. He was willing to fix up this room for me...he was willing to do anything...
"I got some movies," Pierce said, breaking me out of my thoughts. He showed me the titles, most were horror: Insidious, Insidious 2, Grown Ups, Interview With A Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Now You See Me, Zombieland, and The Conjuring.
"Nice picks," I laughed. He smiled and picked out Grown Ups first. He turned on the television and the dvd player and put the disk in. It started, which he skipped the previews and pressed start on the menu.

A/N I updated! Sorry for the long wait. Had writer's block, since I'm writing extra chapters not in the original story, and been feeling like I have no motivation...and a lot of stuff happening in my family. :/ Hope you enjoyed!
