BANG
THUD
I walked out the room to the top of the stairs to see chuck with the gun held up and Jack laying on the floor. I wanted to scream but i was to shocked to make a noise. Jack was dead. I felt tears fill my eyes and i cupped my mouth keeping in the whimpers. I watched as Chuck keeled next to jack and say something in his ear. I watched has he examined my gift around his neck, then he pulled it off of snapping the chain. I let out a whimper and Chuck stood and looked around for the noise. I ran for my phone and dialled 911. I ran into the bathroom and locked it. Right as i did a big bang came from the other side, i cowered back hitting the sink. "HELP ME! HE SHOT MY BOYFRIEND!" i yelled into the phone.
BANG
The door swung open and i was face to face with my worst nightmare, Chuck. He smiled a smile that shook me to the bone. "WHY NOT ME!" I yelled. Chuck let out a mincing laugh of some sort. "Oh you'll get yours." He pointed the gun at me. "WAIT!" I yelled. "THEY ARE GOING TO FIND YOU AND LOCK YOU UP! FOR GOOD!" He shook his head and scratched his head with the gun. "No. You see your boyfriend in down stairs in a pool of his own blood. I am now going to shoot you, and i intend to kill you. As for me? I'm going to lodge a bullet in my head for you. I'm not going anywhere without you Lanny." I looked into his eyes and found emptiness pooling in them in them. "You cant do THIS!" He laughed again. I pushed pass him and out the room. I heard a chuckle erupt from his mouth. "You cant hide!"
I ran down the stairs and looked at jacks body. "Lanny!" he said in almost a melody. I walked past the body and into the living room. and ducked behind a recliner in the coroner. I heard foot steps and creaking slowly make their way into the living room "Lanny i saw the clothes laying in the room. Were you going to let him touch you?" The i heard something glass brake making me jump. "NO ONE CAN TOUCH YOU! WHERE YOU?" I heard his feet pass me by. I reached the the table next to me and grabbed the lamp. "LANNY I'M GONNA KI-" I smashed the lamp on skull. He hit the floor and blood stained his hair instantly.
I carefully reached down and pulled the gun from his hands and placed it in the waist of my jeans. I searched his pockets and found my gift. I ran over to Jacks body placed a hand on his face. "Jack i...i" I let my treas hit his body. I felt something touch my hand. I opened my eyes to see jack smiling back at me. "Jack!" He laughed but then coughed. "Help is on the way. Your gonna make it!" He smiled and nodded. The i heard the sirens and saw the lights thought the window. I opened the door and ran out to meet the paramedics.

I walked down the hall of the hospital and into jacks room to see him sleeping. I placed a hand on his face and his eyes fluttered open. "Hello sleepy head." He smiled at my words and i kissed his forehead. "What happened?" I smiled. "Chuck shot you. But he missed for heart and shot you in the shoulder." he gripped my arm. "Are you ok?" I nodded. "He didn't hurt me. But i did hit him over the head with your lamp!" His eyes widened and he nodded. "Nice going love!" I nodded and kissed his forehead again. I saw his face go from a happy smile to a more stern look. "What?" I ran my finger through his hair. "You tried to protect me. Thank you." He looked down and half smile.
I reached in my pocket and pulled out my gift, i put it around his neck. "Apart but never falling apart" I said as i closed the clasp. He took the ring and pressed it to his lips and closed it in palm and took a deep breath. "I thought you were dead for a while there. My whole world shattered. Is that how it felt when i got hit?" He nodded and i saw him tense up a bit. I grabbed his hand and placed a kissed right below his ear "we're safe now."
