By the time Yusho had installed the pet doors onto the boys' doors, the boys were ready to head off to bed. They snuggled together in their giant bed, listening to the sound of the ocean outside. Yugo smiled at the sound, "This is definitely my new dream home."
"I know, right?" Yuya said, closing his eyes and relaxing. "This is the best home in any dimension!"
The boys heard the sound of the new cat flaps in the closet and bedroom doors, and then the pitter patter of toe beans on the floor. Then, Core jumped onto the bed and sat on Yuya's chest, nuzzling his face.
"Hey, Core!" Yuya said with a smile, petting his favorite pet. "How do you like the new house?" Core purred in response, and Yuto smiled, "I swear, he can understand humans."
"He probably can," Yuri agreed, "he's very smart. And remember, Yuya taught him how to mimic human speech to respond to stuff he says."
"I totally heard him say what? when Yusho tried to call him earlier," Zarc mused. "Yusho was surprised too. Pretty sure he didn't expect Core to sound like he was talking like a person."
Core meowed and lay down on Yuya's tummy, ready to protect him from anything that might come in through the door. He purred when Zarc reached out to pet him. "Such a good kitty! We're very glad you're here, Core!" Core meowed happily, and boys and cat settled in for the night.
