Puppy Eyes

The Lancers were all suitably impressed by Yuya's beach house. Gongenzaka and Yuzu had both been to the beach house in the past, but none of the others had ever visited. Sawatari in particular seemed to like the beach house a lot.

"You know, I've always wondered why my papa couldn't ever book a reservation for this beach house for summer vacation," he said. "I always thought it was a rental house! Most of the other beach houses in the area are!"

"Yeah, I thought so too," Yuya admitted. "I always wondered why my family was always able to book a reservation here whenever I wanted to visit. Guess now I know!"

Sawatari was about to speak, but suddenly Zarc snapped, "Oi! What do you think you're doing?!" Everyone jumped and looked at him, then looked where he was looking. He was glaring at Reiji, who was inspecting the electric fireplace.

"I'm just looking around," Reiji replied. Zarc's glare intensified, "Liar! You're looking for places to put surveillance cameras so you can spy on Yuya!"

"Zarc, relax, it's fine!" Yuya protested. "He just wants us to be safe!" Zarc scowled, "I can protect you easily! We don't need his surveillance to keep us safe!"

Yuri grinned, pinching Yuya's cheeks, "Aw, but Zarc, you know how Reiji's surveillance cameras make Yuya feel extra safe! Don't you want Yuya to feel extra safe in our new home? I mean, what if someone breaks into the house while we're away? Reiji can call the police for us and have the intruder arrested and taken away before we even get home!"

"Yeah!" Yuya said, giving Zarc puppy eyes. Zarc froze when he saw them. "Aw, crap... Didn't realize how powerful your puppy eyes really are..."

He tried to look away, but Yuya continued the puppy eyes. Every time Zarc looked back at him, there they were. Finally, he groaned, "Okay, okay! If it makes you feel better, he can put up surveillance cameras, okay?"

"Thanks Zarc!" Yuya said happily, hugging him tightly.
