The next morning Yuri woke up at 5:30 AM, as he always did. He sat up, careful not to wake his counterparts, and got up. Core raised his head and looked sleepily at the cabbage-head, purring.
"Good morning, Core!" Yuri said softly, petting the cat. "Y'know, don't tell the other cats this, but you're my favorite! I normally don't like cats, but you're something special! Such a smart cat! And so loyal too!"
Core purred at him, nuzzling his hand. Yuri knew enough about cats from Yuya to know that nuzzling was a sign of great love and affection from cats. He smiled at the cat, "I love you too, Core! Just don't tell anyone I said that, okay? Nobody must ever know I'm capable of loving something that isn't myself!"
"I heard you say that!" Zarc chuckled, startling his Fusion reincarnation. Yuri's amethyst eyes widened slightly in horror as the asparagus-haired boy smirked at him. Then Yuri scowled. "Not. One. Word!" he hissed.
"Oh, don't worry! Your secret is safe with me!" Zarc promised. Yuri huffed, then walked over to the glass sliding doors to look at the rooftop garden. "Such a lovely sight..." he murmured. "It would be a wonderful place to meditate in the morning!"
"Isn't there a zen room downstairs?" Zarc mused. "I'm sure Yuya wouldn't mind if you bring one of the meditation stools up here to meditate in the garden. Or maybe we can get one for you specifically for the garden?"
"Mm, morning meditation sounds good," Yuto murmured, his onyx eyes fluttering open. Yuri looked at him, "How much of our conversation did you hear?"
"Just you talking about meditating in the morning, and what Zarc said after," Yuto said, sitting up carefully. The morning sunrise was visible through the window, and he smiled. He loved watching the sunrise.
"Good," Yuri said, relaxing a little. He opened the sliding glass doors and stepped out into the garden. The cool morning breeze lifted his spirits, and he smiled. It was very serene, and the sound of the waves and birds calling was very relaxing. He sat down on a rock and closed his eyes, basking in the moment. Yes, this would be a wonderful place to spend the early mornings!
