(Imagine #1) Thor: Gone

You tossed and turned in bed.

The next morning was the day of your wedding day with Thor, and you were having a restless night. This was because he had left Asgard to go and help the rest of the Avengers fight a new enemy called "Lockjaw".

You were silently praying that he would return home safely, but at the same time, you felt as though you were worried for nothing. Your fiancee was the God of Thunder, and you doubted that there was anything much more powerful than him, but your trepidation still flowed through your veins as you twisted your engagement ring around your finger.

Finally, after staring at the star adorned sky for a few long moments, you drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

You awoke the next morning with a handmaiden shaking you.

"Lady (Y/N), Lady Sif requests your presence in the main hall."

You yawned, still drowsy from your limited amount of sleep. "What is the reason for such an early awakening?"

"Lady Sif says that it is urgent."

You yawned again, and told the handmaiden that would be all. You dressed in a (F/C) Asgardian dress and went outside, walking quickly to the main hall.

When you arrived there, you saw Sif looking very nervous about something, and Loki, who also attended the battle with the Avengers, whom he had sided with. Loki also looked upset.

"You wanted to speak with me?" You asked, searching around for Thor. Today was your wedding day, so what bride wouldn't be searching for their future husband.

"(Y/N), we have some terrible news." Sif said quietly, and you could hear the wavering in her voice, which was uncommon for the female warrior.

"What is it?"

"Thor is dead. He was killed shielding Loki from a missile that Lockjaw had fired. S.H.I.E.L.D tried everything to save him. We're so sorry."

The world around you became a blur. Dead? Surely they don't mean that. I bet he's going to pop out from behind one of those pillars and say how the whole thing was just one of Loki's diabolical tricks.

But he didn't, and when you met Loki's red and tear soaked eyes, you knew that it was true. Sif also began silently weeping, and you felt hot tears drip down your face as you sank to the floor. You took off your engagement ring and held it close to your heart.

He's gone...
