~Clint~
*Clint's POV*
"So do you think she'll like it?"
I watched Natasha's face carefully as she inspected the arrow covered wall in front of us. The arrows were in the shape of a heart, and in the center, was an arrow with a piece of paper picered beneath it, with a ring on the positioned between the tip of the arrow and the paper.
Nat circled the whole thing, expressionless until she looked back at me, where she beamed. "You've done good Clint. She's going to love it."
I sighed happily. Today was the day I was going to propose to the girl of my dreams. I was praying she'd say yes
*Your POV*
You sighed as you sat at your dinner table wearing your fanciest dress, your chin on your hand. You were waiting for Clint, who was about an hour and a half late. This hasn't been the first time he's been late either. It's been getting more and more constant now, and he'd always be making mysterious phone calls. Whenever you'd ask you he was talking to, he'd always immediately change the subject.
This behavior had been going on for a few months now, and when Clint offered to take you out to dinner, you hoped that maybe he was trying to make it up to you.
Apparently you were wrong.
A waiter kept coming over and asking if you wanted to order, and finally after the fifth time he asked, you just decided to leave, gathering your stuff and heading out.
As you were walking back home, you noticed the gym where you always trained with Clint. You felt a tear sting your eye, but decided that shooting a few arrows to blow off some steam wouldn't hurt.
You went into the indoor archery range, not even bothering to change out of your dress and heels, and took aim. You were about to shoot when you heard voices outside the door. You glanced over, and saw Clint talking on the phone and glancing around nervously.
"That son of a bitch." You said under your breath, throwing your bow on the ground and storming out of the gym, right at Clint, who looked shocked to see you, and hung up the phone.
"Care to tell me who that was, Clint?" You demanded, crossing your arms.
He didn't reply, but instead grabbed your hand and began pulling you towards the other side of the range. "(Y/N)! I went to the restaurant and when you weren't there I thought I should come here and-"
He was still dragging you, but you stopped short, causing him to drop your hand. You were right outside the door of the other indoor range, the one where the pair of you meant, but you were too angry to even process that.
Clint tilted his head at you. "What?"
You laughed slightly, but it came out sarcastic, and hurt, and you felt a tear escape your eye. "Clint, if you think being late to a fancy dinner we've been planning for months and then deciding to go shooting is going to make up for everything you've done in the past few months, you're wrong."
Clint just looked at you, unblinking, but kept on trying to pull you into the room. "(Y/N) if you'd just come here and look, I'll explain-"
"I've given you months to explain." You replied, another tear running down your face as you yanked your hand away once more. "I can't do this anymore, Clint. I-I just don't think we're right for each other anymore. I'm sorry."
You ran out of there as fast as you could, almost tripping because of your heels, ignoring Clints pleads for you to come back...
