I've witnessed how grief and loss can destroy a person. My father was a strong man who was made weak due to the loss of his wife and daughter.

I've often thought to myself that Chiara is the strongest of us all.

I can't watch her fall as deep into grief as our father did. I won't.

However, it's perhaps hypocritical to say that I won't when I feel helpless to save her.

I watch her, frequently, stare at nothing. She rarely brings her gaze up from what's directly in front of her. She hates loud bangs and flinches, panicking, when there is one. Sometimes her breathing picks up and she starts scratching at her wrist.

I don't want to watch her go on like this.

First of all, I have to go to the source of her pain. The gang - The Revenants - have to be dealt with.

I put my coffee mug down when Noah enters the kitchen.

"I didn't want to leave her here all by herself but I also want to go with so I've called Alexsei and he's going to come round," he tells me.

"I wasn't sure about leaving her alone either," I nod my head.

"He'll get here just after we leave," he says, "speaking of which, we should probably sort out everything to go."

All my brothers had gone out together

All my brothers had gone out together.

I knew why, Mafia business.

I had - and still have - no interest in that. I have first hand experience of how destructive hate can be.

They spoke softly before they left, as had been the norm recently. Their glances towards me have lasted longer, as though they're waiting for something. Maybe a longer response, more of a reaction or some form of acknowledgement? I'm not sure, and it weighs me down each time I can't give the exact response they're expecting.

I've got to try.

I look around me, lying on my side in bed with Roland at the end. Taylor had been walking him recently taken the fact it's been a struggle for me to even leave my room. As soon as they get home though, Roland runs back to my side, pressing against me.
