Extra Chapter 127

Y/n's POV

I rushed towards the woman who had used her quirk to hypnotize us, kicking her legs out from under her using my tails as support. She hit the ground before I heard a loud crack as I saw the woman roll onto her pain screaming in pain. Everything faded as the woman got up. "You pests. How did you escape me? That shouldn't be possible." The woman complained. Anna walked past me as the woman looked at me. "What are you?" The woman asked.

"Just a hero." I said, walking over and pinning her arm behind her as I held her to the ground. 

"Giulio?" Anna asked. I looked over to see her walking towards Giulio, finally feeling the effects of Anna's quirk fade as my extra tails vanished. "Hello, Miss Anna," Giulio said, looking at her. 

"It's really you!" Anna cheered. She started rushing towards him before Giulio aimed his gun at her. Anna gasped as she saw what he was doing. "Put that away," Papa demanded. Anna stood there not saying anything before another loud crack rang out through the air. I panicked, letting go of the woman and rushing over to Anna to help her. As I got to her, I checked for any sign of blood, but she wasn't bleeding. I looked towards Giulio and Papa, seeing Papa holding Giulio's arm in the air. "Step aside. Let go!" Giulio demanded.

"I won't stand here and watch you shoot her. Do you understand me?" Papa asked. I felt myself get pushed from behind as Anna screamed. I looked above us, seeing Anna and the woman getting away from us because of the man who had telepathy. Giulio rushed forward before firing at them before the door in the dome ceiling above us vanished. Giulio stood there for a moment after they were gone before Papa spoke up. "We'll find a way..." Papa started. Giulio rushed over to him and grabbed his cape. "Damn it! Why would you interfere? You're no hero. You're a nuisance. You meddle around in other people's problems when you have no idea what's going on! Fool! This may have been my last chance to stop Miss Anna!" Giulio shouted. 

"Giulio. We can't let you hurt her. We both saw how she looked at you." I said, grabbing his arm. He looked at me as his grip loosened on Papa's cape. "Y/n's right. When you aimed your gun at her; it looked like you were in agony." Papa explained. Giulio let out an unsteady breath as he looked between us. "From what I can tell, deep down you just want to help her. Not kill her," Papa pointed out. Giulio grunted before shoving Papa back and pulled his arm away from me. "Obviously! The only reason I'm here is to help her! But it's too late now... Killing her is the only option I have," Giulio shouted before looking at the ground.

"I don't get why you'd have to do something so drastic." Papa said.

"Because she told me it's what she wants." Giulio explained.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Giulio took a deep breath before nodding. "Miss Anna's quirk is called Overmodification. It's a power that's constantly active. When she touches someone, she transforms their quirk factor. It allows that person to temporarily enhance or alter their power. They get a boost. However, if she touches someone who's incompatible with her ability, pain shoots through their body instead. She never said it, but I think she was afraid of human contact her whole life." Giulio answered. I realized what that meant as I remembered Papa complaining about pain when he got close to her when we were first trying to save her. "The first time I met her, she was confined to her room. Secluded and alone, like a princess in a fairy tale. She showed no emotion. Never smiled or cried. The bigger problem is that if she doesn't release a certain amount of her quirk, it turns against her body. She's racked with painful seizures. That's why I was hired. To help her. My quirk is Neutralization. When I touch someone with my right hand, I can nullify their quirk. I could take away her pain." Giulio continued. Giulio explained Anna had made him promise that if she lost control of her power that Giulio would kill her. "Before that could happen, the Gollini family somehow found out about Miss Anna's ability. They attacked the mansion and killed Mr. Scervino. They took her, used her, and so I'm here to fulfill my promise." Giulio added.
