Y/n's POV
I was working in Mom's office late one night, filing some paperwork away since she had been taking on far too many tasks by herself. Once I had gathered all the paperwork that needed her approval, I headed to her desk, finding her asleep. Her head moved as she looked up, opening her eyes. She groaned before rubbing her eyes and sitting up. She looked at me as I smiled at her. "Y/n? What are you still doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with Deku?" Mom asked.
"I called him and told him I was staying late to help you out. Is something wrong? You look... annoyed?" I asked. Mom nodded as she looked at her desk. "I keep having this dream. It keeps coming back and I don't know why, but Himiko Toga is in it." Mom explained. I set the paperwork down on the side of her desk before pulling a chair over to it. "If you want to talk about it, I'm here for you," I commented. She nodded before getting up as we headed to her apartment for the night. The next day, we headed to one school I had filled out paperwork for a while ago. Mirio, Amajiki, Nejire, and Tsu were all able to come with us to the school. "I'm glad you had the time to help me out. The kids are going to be so excited." Mom commented. We walked towards the school entrance as Mirio asked if she was sure. "What if none of them care that 'I'm here?'" Mirio joked. I giggled and shook my head.
"Wait, is that supposed to be a joke Cause I don't get it," Nejire asked. I nodded and explained that it was like how Uncle Might used to announce he was there. "It's an honor to be asked to participate in Uravity's Quirk counseling. You're doing great work." Amajiki added.
"Word, everyone from Ryuku's agency is super talented." Mirio commented.
"She wants the next generation to be prepared." Nejire replied.
"The war taught all of us that." Amajiki pointed out. Mom stepped out in front of us and talked about the files I had given everyone in advance. "The most important part is communication, though. Someone might look like they're not having any trouble, but they could be carrying heavy stuff deep down. It can be difficult to open up to an adult they've never met. Especially if they're having trouble at home with their parents. You have to stay patient with them; the profiles can be handy, but trust your judgement. I'm sure you'll see progress." Mom said, giving us a thumbs-up.
"If there's a kid that really doesn't want to open up to an adult, I've also noticed they open up easier around me as well. Don't be afraid to ask for my help." I added. The other nodded as we continued walking onto the school grounds. Mom was talking about the timeline, with it taking about a month, basing it on how today was going to go. She suggested we stay friendly and not get overwhelmed by how many kids there were. "Sounds like a lot of work." Amajiki pointed out.
"It's fine. We've got plenty of support staff backing us up. Everyone here is really passionate about our mission," Mom replied, gesturing to some of the other adults who were arriving with us. She mentioned Hawks was even working to get funds sent out to help with the mission. "With everyone pitching in, quirk education is better than it has ever been." I added, remembering the number of students that we had helped already.
"Jeez, do you have any free time for yourself these days?" Amajiki asked. Mom looked at him, thinking about it for a moment before my ears flicked to the left as I heard what sounded like a stampede of kids coming towards us. The kids came sprinting towards us as they called out to each of us using our hero names. "Hey kiddos! We were looking for ya." Mirio said, looking at the kids. The kids all begged him to do the trick he was known for as a hero. He climbed up into a tree and started using his speed and quirk to move his butt around the tree, joking about it being a peach. I was standing next to Nejire and Amajiki as Nejire commented on how awkward it was to see that from Mirio. "Hit me with your awesome quirks!" Mirio called. The kids stepped forward and started firing off their quirks, trying to hit him.
