A/N: Happy holidays, everyone! I hope you enjoy these small, cute chapters for the holidays. I celebrate Christmas myself and wrote this chapter that way. But whatever you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful time during this time of year!
A/N: This takes place after the series. Eri and Y/n are both teens enjoying their lives post-war.
Y/n's POV
It was already evening and getting close to dinnertime, and with it being Christmas Eve, Mom and Dad were trying to prepare something special for dinner. "Y/n, Eri. Deku and I are headed out to get a few things for dinner that we don't have on hand. Mind finishing up the tree?" Mom called. Eri and I both nodded as the two of them left the house that Dad had bought. Eri and I walked over and started pulling out the ornaments for the tree and placing them around the tree on the floor. "So where do we start?" Eri asked, looking over the tree. I sighed, looking between the ornaments, string lights, and the tree. My five tails were waving gently behind me as I considered where to start. "String lights first, then ornaments?" I suggested.
"Sounds like the perfect idea." Eri answered. The two of us started working on hanging the string of lights around the tree. It was a slow process, but we eventually got all the strings of lights hung on the tree. "Remember when I got that sword for Christmas when I was living at UA with you all?" Eri asked. I started laughing as I nodded. "That was funny. You were so excited about the fact that it was your present." I said, hanging the first ornament on the tree. Eri giggled as she hung the next ornament on a branch not too far from mine. We started hanging ornaments one by one until I found a set that I had made while at UA as a special acceptance student. "What are those?" Eri asked, looking over my shoulder.
"The first December that we lived in the dorms, Momo wanted to do something special with everyone. So she used her quirk to make little ornaments that we could decorate. Me, Mom and Dad all made one." I said, showing her the ornaments we had all made. I designed mine after Dad and his hero costume, Mom designed hers after me and her, and Dad designed his after All Might. Eri looked at the one I had designed before smiling. "This really looks like Deku's old hero outfit." Eri cheered, turning the ornament in her hand. I smiled and nodded, handing them each to her to hang on the tree. We continued decorating the tree, placing ornaments wherever we could find space for them, before coming to the last one and trying to find the perfect spot for it. "I think it should go here." Eri said, pointing out a mostly empty space.
"But this spot would be better." I said, gesturing to a spot that was closer to the rest of the ornaments. We started arguing over it, each of us determined to prove where the best spot was. While we were arguing over where we should put the ornament, someone reached out, took the ornament and placed it somewhere completely different from the spots we were arguing over. "Come on, you two. You're supposed to be friends." Dad said, stepped between us. Eri and I both sighed as we looked at Dad before laughing about it. He looked between us before sighing. "I can't believe you two were arguing over ornament placement." Dad said, walking back to the kitchen. Eri and I calmed down after a moment before turning back to the tree and looking at it. The lights weren't on yet, but it already felt like a proper Christmas tree. "Shall we turn on the lights, Trix?" Eri asked, using my pro hero name. I rolled my eyes before nodding. Eri plugged the lights in, turning them on and lighting up the tree. The two of us stepped back, admiring our work in decorating the tree before hearing Mom call for dinner. We headed to the dining room, joining Mom and Dad at the table. The four of us talked about Dad's work at UA, Eri's school, Mom's quirk counseling, and my help between Dad and Mom's work.
"So how have you two been doing?" Mom asked. My cheeks warmed as I realized what she was talking about. "What do you mean, Miss Uraraka?" Eri asked.
"Well, I'm curious about how the two of you have been doing relationship-wise. I know Y/n hasn't been too open to dating since she's been so busy with my work and Deku's work. And I know you two talk whenever you can." Mom commented.
"Mom... Not now..." I begged.
"Well, we talk a lot..." Eri answered. I looked over at her. From what I could see, her cheeks were red, and she wasn't looking at me. "Uraraka. Now isn't the time for this," Dad commented.
"Actually... Y/n... I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but would you mind if we tried going on a date?" Eri asked, "After Christmas, of course." She was looking at me, and her face was deep red. I sat there stunned before nodding. "Well, it might be early then, but here's a little present from me," Mom said, handing us an envelope. I opened it, and inside was a gift card to a restaurant that Eri and I go to often. "Thank you." Eri said, taking the card while I continued to sit there stunned. After dinner, Mom and Dad headed to their room to rest after spending the previous days working on hero work. Eri and I sat on opposite sides of the couch, not talking. "Sorry about them." I apologized.
"It's okay. Just... a little sudden." Eri admitted.
"Yeah..." It was silent for a minute as neither of us spoke. I felt something press into the couch next to me as I looked up, seeing Eri sitting next to me. "Sorry if you felt like I rushed you into that, but... I've known you've had a thing for me for a long time. Kota mentioned it when I started living with them."
"Seriously? I told him to be quiet about that." I sighed. Eri giggled before leaning against me. "You know, you're always warm, and I'd say it's perfect for the snowy weather we've had for a few days." I couldn't speak since she was leaning against me, and I couldn't think of anything to say. "My, is me leaning against you all it takes for you to shut up? Wish I'd known that when we were at UA."
"You're mean." I said, my tails unconsciously wrapping around her. Eri just giggled as we looked at the tree before falling asleep leaning against each other.
