You didn't remember why you were out that night, only that it was the best mistake of your life.

You are walking down the street from school like every other week day with your ear buds in and your school bag resting on your shoulder. Suddenly you heard the gunshots and the screams and you sprinted away only to be grabbed ruffly by the arm and have a gun pressed to the side of your head.

"Don't come any closer or I put a bullet through her brain!" the man who had grabbed you yelled.

You felt the tears streaming down your face as you struggled in his grip.

The police stopped in their tracks just feet away.

"Let her go now," one of them said sternly.

You glanced up at the man as his pupils changed into slits and a forked tongue darted out of his teeth. His lips grew into a sickening grin. "Oh yeah? And which one of you puny mortals is going to make me?"

"None of them are," a voice rang out from the air.

You looked up in time to see a boy about sixteen flying through the air with a golden sword in his hand before he flew right above you kicking the man in the head.

The grip on your neck and the pressure of the gun on your temple was lifted and you ran as fast as you could to the line of police officers who weren't moving which you thought was odd. You glanced over your shoulder and you couldn't believe your eyes. The man who was once holding you now looked completely different.

For one thing, he wasn't a human. He had the body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion but his face was the same.

The blonde boy was standing across from him with his back turned to you. "I refuse to let you harm innocent mortals when I'm around!" he yelled at the monster.

The monster laughed. "Oh Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, what makes you think that you can stop me? No hero has defeated me in thousands of years.

"Jason" laughed. "Well then it seems like you're long over due." With out warning he thrusted his sword at the monsters head taking it by surprise. The golden blade pierced the monsters eye and it exploded into a yellow powder with a wail.

Jason turned back to the crowd and walked over to you. "Are you alright?" He asked with concern in his voice.

You finally got your first good look at him.

He was tall, maybe 6"1, and had a firm built. He had startling blue eyes framed by golden glasses and a warm smile. There was this little scar above his lip that you thought was absolutely adorable. When he lifted his left arm to ruffle his blonde hair you could see a tattoo of an eagle with the letters SPQR and twelve lines underneath it.

You looked up at him. "Y-yeah. I'm fine. What was that thing?"

He flinched. "Um, it was just a crazy man."

You shook your head. "No it wasn't. He was some sort of monster. And you! You had this bloody golden sword that you stabbed him with and he went poof," you say making a exploding motion with your hands. "And how the heck did you fly?" You ask looking for some sort of flying device.

He laughs. "Woah, slow down there girly."

You glare at him slightly. "I want answers!"

He chuckles. "And the only thing you need to know, is that I'm you average everyday blonde superman." And after smirking at you he took off flying.

After they took you in for questioning and you gave them all the answers you could you finished your walk home. You bypassed your mother who was about to start another round of questions about why you weren't home earlier and ran up the stairs to your room. You fell down on hour bed and buried your face in a pillow.

Seconds later you heard a tapping on your window.

Cautiously you got up grabbing the closest item to you, which happened to be your text book, and walked towards the window. You carefully drew the curtains and breathed a sigh of relief. You opened your window and Jason flew in.

He looked at you. "I guess I owe you an explanation."

You nod. "Hold up. Let me go down and grab some drinks. This is going to take a while."

He smiles. "I'll take a chocolate milk please."
