"H-hey (y/n), um, I wanted to know if you, um."
"Frank! Come on! We're going to be late!" Jason yelled from the door way.
Frank looked away from the mirror in which he was practicing asking you out. "I'm coming." He pulled on his Christmas sweater that you had gotten him and ran out of his cabin.
Jason clapped him on the back. "Today's the day buddy. You gonna do it?"
Frank nodded. His face was etched with determination. "I'm going to do it. I'm going to ask (y/n) out." He marched towards the archery range where you were shooting. As he neared the area he saw you knocking another arrow and he confidence faltered. He spun on his heel and marched back to Jason. "I can't do it."
Jason laughed and pushed up his glasses. "What do you mean? Of course you can. You've been practicing."
"Practice can't help me this time." Frank sat down on a snow covered log ignoring the cold that was soaking his pants. He looked down at his sweaters pattern. A big furry bear with a Santa hat on. He smiled fondly remembering what you had said when he unwrapped it.
"It reminds me of you. A big lovable teddy bear at Christmas."
He sighed and held his head in his hands. "What am I going to do?"
Jason coughed. "Stop sulking because she's coming this way."
Frank looked up and sure enough, you were making your way toward him.
Your confident strides were enough to make any man's knees weak and the way your (curly/wavy/straight) (h/c) hair bounced off your shoulders just added to your beauty. Your (f/c) sweater fit your figure perfectly and your earmuffs were absolutely adorable. Your breath came out and small, frosty puffs as you walked. You stopped in front of Frank and smiled. "Hey Teddy Bear."
Frank blushed at your nick name for him. "H-Hey (n/n)."
You grinned. "I can't believe it's Christmas."
"Pretty crazy huh?"
You nodded and gazed down at your feet.
Jason stifled a laugh and cleared his throat. "Frank, weren't you just saying that you wanted to ask (y/n) here something?"
You perked up. "What did you want to ask me?"
Frank shot Jason a death glare. "Um, would you, er, do you want to hang out with me tonight at Christmas dinner?"
Your face fell for only an instant before you smiled and nodded. "Sounds like fun! Pick me up from my cabin at six." You waved at him and skipped down the hill.
Frank let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.
Jason started cracking up. "Really dude? That's all you've got?"
Frank rolled his eyes. "Aw shut up."
Six o'clock rolled around faster than anticipated and Frank soon found himself outside your cabin. He lightly knocked in the door gripping the bouquet of (favorite flowers) tightly.
You opened the door and smiled. Your gaze shifted down to the flowers and you laughed. "What did those poor flowers ever do to you?"
He held them out. "These are for you," he said awkwardly.
Your smile brightened and you took them. "You're such a sweetheart. Just give me a second." You disappeared into your room.
Frank shoved his hands deep into his pockets as he waited for you patiently. Anxiety was creeping into his heart as he tapped his feet on the snow covered ground.
You walked back out. "Ready?"
He nodded and took his hands out of his pockets.
The two of you walked side by side in a comfortable silence.
Slowly your hand gravitated closer to his and soon you were holding hands.
Frank glanced down at them and a light blush dusted his cheeks.
You looked at him. "You ok? You're looking a little red."
"Fine. I'm fine," he said a bit too quickly. Way to go Frank.
You laughed. "We'll come on. Chiron is letting us sit wherever in the spirit of Christmas." You pulled him the rest of the way to the dining pavilion.
The two of you sat together at the (g/p) table alone (your siblings had cleared out almost immediately so they could give you guys some space).
Frank sat across from you and shifted in his seat uneasily.
You smiled warmly at him and began eating the Christmas dinner that had been prepared.
All throughout the night, you and Frank would make small talk, crack the occasional joke, and sit in silence just enjoying each other's company. The night went splendidly. After dinner Frank walked you back to your cabin.
"I had fun," Frank said holding your hand.
You nodded. "I did too. You're really funny."
"Well I'm no Leo but I try."
You stopped outside your door and turned to him. "Thank you so much." You wrapped your arms around him and hugged him tightly.
He tensed but slowly melted in your embrace hugging you back. "Any time, (y/n)."
You chuckled. "Frank, look up."
He obliged and turned his gaze upward.
Hanging above the two of you was a small sprig of a familiar Christmas plant.
He laughed. "Mistletoe."
You smiled. "Well if it had to be anyone, I'm glad I got stuck under the mistletoe with you." You stood on your tippy-toes and pressed your lips to Frank's gently.
He was quick to respond and hugged you tighter.
Behind your cabin door, Jason was snickering along with your siblings as one of your brothers was snapping pictures.
You'd kill him later, but right now you were with your new boyfriend enjoying your time under the mistletoe.
