The cabin was quiet early that morning, save for the occasional chirps of birds outside the open window. Sunlight streamed through the curtains and hit your closed eyelids arousing you from you sleep.

Your eyes fluttered open as you breathed a small and content sigh. You say up and rubbed the sleep from your eyes tiredly. You lanced around at the empty cabin with a frown. No sign of life came from the empty bunks and vacant room. You pushed your covers off and walked to your trunk pulling out a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt and jean shorts. You glanced at the small calendar hanging in the lid of your trunk at the circled day marked with a birthday cake and smiled slightly. "Another year, still alive," you whispered to yourself as you closed your trunk grabbing your (weapon of choice). You exited the cabin into the sunny out doors and made your way toward the dining pavilion.

Campers greeted you as you passed and you nodded politely back.

"(Y/n)! Good morning!" Will called as he passed you on his way to breakfast as well.

You smiled. "Good morning to you too, Will."

He grinned at you. "Big day, right?"

Your eyes brightened and you nodded excitedly. "It is."

He nods. "Yeah, I've got a couple archery tests today. Pretty sure I'm gonna pass, but it's still pretty big."

You frowned. "I-Is that the only reason it's a big day?"

He nodded. "Yeah pretty much. Wish me luck!" He ran off toward the pavilion.

Your face fell for a split second before you straightened up. "Don't worry. He may have forgotten, but I'm sure someone remembered," you said to yourself. You walked resolutely toward the pavilion and sat down at the (g/p) table.

Your siblings bustled with excitement around you.

You looked at your brother with a questioning look. "Why's everyone so excited?"

He shrugged. "Beats me. Probably capture the flag tomorrow."

Your face fell. "Oh..." You shoved your plate away and got up mumbling, "I'm not hungry anymore," under your breath. You shoved your hands into your pockets and started walking away from the pavilion trying not to show the hurt on your face. You slowly made your way into the forest as your feet took you down the familiar path toward the cliff over looking the beach. You sat down on the edge and let your feet dangle over in the open air. You rested your palms against the cool grass and sighed. "Did they all seriously forget today?" You whispered. You breathed in deeply and gripped the grass beneath you in tight fists.

You stayed there at the cliff for a good half hour before getting up and walking back to reluctantly join humanity.

Daily activities were in full swing. Campers were as lively as ever and the sun was shining brightly.

You smiled. If anything, at least the day decided to be nice. You jogged over to the climbing wall where Jason and Percy were getting ready to climb. "Hey guys!" You greeted cheerfully. "Lovely day isn't it? Some special occasion?" You asked laying the hints on thickly.

Percy grinned. "Yeah. Today's the day I'm gonna beat Jason up the wall."

"In your dreams, Jackson," Jason scoffed at him. "You'll never beat me."

"Oh we'll see about that." Percy approached the wall. "Ready, set, go!"

The two scrambled up the wall.

Your face fell the second they were off the ground and you continued on your way hoping to find someone who might have an inkling on what today was for you.
