After All This Time

Ch.30 Revival

The sword fell out from his finger tips. Its metal hit the ground with a clank. It felt like pins and needles in his ear.

But he couldn't tell what was worse.

The sound of the sword or the sound of Kouga's body hitting the floor.

That thud was haunting.

Masami looked at the man responsible. He wanted to say something, hit him, yell at him, but he ran to get help.

Katashi looked into his eyes, he looked at the face of a demon he has stricken. He's never felt guilty. But he didn't mean to.

Surely a demon would heal right away? Of course he'll get up any minute now. Any minute.

A second passed. Two minutes pass.

Kouga didn't move yet.

Sir Katashi took a step back.

He only wanted to get his anger out. He only wanted to spar. He only wanted his Lord to look at him.

"I didn't mean to..." he took another step back but must've stepped on a pebble. He tripped about to fall back.

It caught him.

He's been caught.

Katashi turns to check who is captor is, in a pleasant surprise it turns out to be Lord Hashigawa.

"My lord-!" He exclaimed relieved.
"What's going on?"

Shit.

Sir Katashi follows that voice.

It was Lord Fujimura. His scowl unforgiving.

Shit.

It was as if Inuyasha's heart was ripped out of his chest. The sight of Kouga unconscious on the ground blood seeping out onto the black fabric. That cut across his chest tore through his clothes exposing the wound to air. The blood gushing out of it like a river. If you were to squint your eyes you would think the cloth wet. But Inuyasha couldn't squint. His eyes were wide open. 

He couldn't make believe that this wasn't real.

Moroha gasped.
"Somebody call a medic!" Masami yelled out.

The half demon was frozen. He just couldn't register it yet.

He's finally done it.

He's killed him.

Inuyasha killed him.

Masami ripped off fabric from his own clothes and tried to tie it around him.
Moroha held onto Yua. She was too afraid to go near. Too scared to find out the truth.

"Please Kouga," Inuyasha murmured unbeknownst to himself. Kouga would have never died if it weren't for Inuyasha. Kouga just can't die.

"...please." He begged to whatever being could hear him.

Masami finished wrapping it around his chest. The brown haired man gulped. He was out of his depth. He can't save him. He knows so little about medicine. They need a doctor or something, buts no one's arrived yet.

Kouga's eyes shot open.

Masmai took a sight of relief. Moroha lighted up.

Inuyasha clenched his fist.

Everyone was relived to see his breathing, alive.

"What's.." he grunted unable to finish his sentence. His eyes were unfocused and he tried to turn over. His body ached but felt like it was running on adrenaline only. He just knew he wasn't safe here.
