Ch.31 Reconcile

Masami had been ordered to find clothes for Kouga. Which he did. It wasn't easy. He had found something similar to what he had on but he couldn't find the exact. They weren't specifically designed to accommodate his tail. It was good enough replacement.

He knocked on the door. "My lord?"

No response.

Masami looked around. Morning sun, bustling city, and lots of maids who had a little thing for him. Life couldn't get any better.

But he still had a job to do.

He's also on the clock 24/7. So this came first, then a little hunting and gathering, women, and relaxation. But that can only happen if they open this god damn door.

"My lord? He questioned with greater volume.

He shouldn't but he stuck his ear closer to the door. There was some mumbling that he couldn't make out and he thinks someone might've tripped. Footsteps become louder and the door opened.

"Masami. It's you." Inuyasha spoke a little out of breath.

Masami examined him. Not on purpose but he couldn't help but do it. He's nosy. Inuyasha looked a little disheveled with his hair down and his clothes just a little poorly done...and concerningly red.

"My lord? I've brought what you asked." Masami offers the clothes and Inuyasha quickly takes it.

He smiles and thanks him. Then he tucked his hair behind his ear. That's when Masami saw it.

"What are those?" He honed in on them, inspecting them like a doctor.

"What's what?" Inuyasha looked at himself from top to bottom.

"Those marks." He points at his neck.

Inuyasha covers them instantly. He knew what they were. Damn that wolf demon.

"Are those insect bites?" Masami questioned.

"Yes!" Inuyasha said like he was happy it happened. "It was those insects. There are surprisingly a lot in the city."

"I'll ask for some incense to ward them off." Masami shook his head. "Don't you think they are being a bit too irresponsible? First Kouga and now this. They should think ahead when it comes to their guest. We didn't leave no stone unturned during their stay."

Inuyasha nodded. He agreed but he would rather Masami come back at a later time to gossip. "We can discuss this later, in private. Not out in the open."

"Right, I'm sorry." Foolish mistake.

"No, no. No need." He assured him.

Now he can leave.

"How's Kouga?"

Dear god! Why not ask how Inuyasha's left toe was fairing? Despite his inner thinking Inuyasha smiled. "He's...recovering well."

Masami smiled. "That's good to hear."

"I'll take care of everything else, My lord"

"Yes, okay. Thanks." Inuyasha closes the door and leaves Masami there awkwardly.

Masami started to chuckle as the maids passing by thought his weird. He shouldn't mess with his lord but he really couldn't help it.

Inuyasha took a breath of relief. His wonderful assistant gone at last. He walked over to Kouga who was sitting up holding his chest. He was still shirtless. The half demon tossed it into his lap. "You need to get dressed."
