Back to school (p2)

Avery's pov

'We're here!' Jake said as he slides open the door. "Come on bub. Don't be nervous okay? We'll be here." He reassured me.

I slowly unbuckled myself. Dreading the day ahead of me even though I was basically jumping out of pure joy yesterday.. 'okay...' as I finally got down from the car. Immediately, I went to Jake's sides. It feels much safer here than the crowds of people walking towards a building.

'C'mon guys. We're gonna be late!' Ezra half shouted out. 'Dude. There's like 12 minutes before the bell rings.' Tyson perked in. 'Alright guys remember! Avery's first day!' Jake said as he did some sort of dance moves that made people look over.

I must've been scared or something because the next thing I knew. My face was in Tyson's stomach. Judging from how he stopped moving, I could tell he was just as shocked as I am. But the warmth of him made it hard to peel away.

'Avery.... You okay?' He asked after a moment of silence. I replied by nodding my head. 'Too many people looking.' I mumbled out. 'Oh, thats why.' He replied back. 'Um. Let's go in now.. we're gonna get you your schedule.' Tyson said as he started walking towards the school. Ezra and Jake grumbling behind us about who would get to bring me to my first class. But all I could think of was the amount of people here! It's just like the mall from yesterday but smaller.

Tyson came to a stop in front of a door. As Jake grabbed me softly by the arm and dragged me inside.. I turned around to see where Tyson was but he was already gone. 'I can't wait to see all the new friends you're gonna make!!' Jake blurted out to me.

'I'm still nervous jakey... do you think you could go into class with me?' I asked hopefully.. 'awww. Sorry bud. I would really love to! But I also have classes to attend. The same goes for Ezra. We're gonna see each other during recess right? I'll even wait for you outside your class!' My expression must've been sad otherwise I wouldn't have gotten more pep talks from Ezra.

'And y-' before Ezra could finish speaking. A lady came walking into the room and sat on the chair behind the table. 'Ah. I take it you must be the castor brothers?' She asked Jake. Looking towards her computer.

'Yep! This is Avery. Our little brother. And we're wondering if we could have his schedule printed out?' Jake replied back with a smile. 'Oh of course! It's glad to see you guys reunited! She said as she  typed something into her computer. A moment later something started to beep. I kept looking around trying to find whatever was beeping until I found a machine of some sort. Ezra saw my confusion and told me everything about the mechanism. Apparently it was called a printer. It prints out documents or pictures from electronic devices like a computer. It looks cool.

'Okay. There you go!' The lady handed Jake the paper and Jake handed it to me. 'Thanks Ma'am.' Jake gave her a wave as we exited the room. 'No problem. Have a fun semester!' She added as the door closes behind us.

'Alrighttt Avery boo. Let's go to your class shall we? You're having science for the first lesson. That's great because it's right next to my class!' Ezra said as he stole the paper from me.

'Really?' I perked up. 'Yes really! But unfortunately jakey jakey is in a whole Nother block' he said with a said face. 'Seriously? Ugh! I can't walk Avery to class!' Jake whined which made me giggle.  'Don't worry jakey! We'll see each other during recess!' I reminded him. He grins at me as he walked up the stairs. Waving one last time before he disappeared behind the crowd of people.

'Come on buddy. Let's go get you comfortable in your new class.' Ezra grins at me as he grabbed my hands and pulls me along.

We passed by a bunch of classes until we stopped in front of a door. It had funny decorations on it which were then called DNA by Ezra. He pushed through the door and quickly greeted the teacher. 'Oh? Who might this be?' The woman asked Ezra. 'He's my baby brother! He just started school today.' He told her.

The woman then smiled and said 'so this is Avery! Hello! I'm your science teacher for this semester.. miss Sheila! It's so nice to be teaching another castor brother!' He giggles at the last part before turning back towards Ezra. 'I think you should get going now Ezra.. the bell rings in two minutes!' She told him. 'Oh right!' Ezra said as he gave me a quick kiss on the cheeks before heading off to his class.

'Okay Avery... meet your new classmates! And guys. Meet Avery. Your new classmate for this semester.' Miss Sheila said as she waved her hands towards the group of people sitting down. 'Avery. You can sit next to Percy.' She pointed to a boy with blonde hair. Who stood up happily. Pointing to the empty seat next to him.

I was reluctant at first but walked towards the empty table. I placed my bag down next to me and slid into the seat. 'Hey Avery! Nice to meet you!' Percy greeted as he reached for a handshake. 'Um. H-hello.' I greeted him. Returning the handshake.

He grins at me. Making my cheeks heat up for no apparent reason. 'So uh. You're new around here? Haven't seen you in school before.' Percy asked. 'Yeah.. I-I'm new.' I stuttered back. 'Huh. That explains why you're so nervous.' He added.

I quietly shuffled in my seat. Hoping he would stop talking and notice that miss sheila was looking right at us. 'Boys. I know you guys are probably excited to meet each other.. but right now you're in my classroom, okay? I'll need you guys to settle down.' Miss Sheila said. As she continued teaching how monkeys turning into humans works.

'Talk at recess?' Percy asked me. A soft look in his eyes as the same grind from before appeared. 'Sure..' I replied back. giving him a shaky smile.

The rest of the classes after science went by smoothly. With no one else trying to talk to me except for Percy. Which, unfortunately. Has the same schedule as me for  almost half the day. But luckily I got away during recess when Ezra came to fetch me.

'So how's the first half of the day? Avery? Anyone bullied you? Anyone laughing right at you? Made any friends?' Ezra shot me with the question as soon as I got under his arm. 'No bubba. Nothing happened yet.' I consoled him. Glad that I was back in the protection of my brother. 'Nothing at all? Good. I guess Tyson's plan really worked...' he muttered to himself.

We continued walking until we reached an area where there were a bunch of tables and chairs around. And also a bunch of people. Ezra picked a table and sat down on the chair. While Jake and Tyson brought over the food. 'Heyyy baby bro.' Jake said. 'How's your first day? Getting treated well?' Jake munched on a slice of pizza. As we continued talking about the dangers of pooping in the schools bathroom.

Even though my brothers are weird. I still love them very much. because they never bullied me, teased me(only a little), or even hit me... I never thought I was likeable by anyone last time. But now I know that "life" I was having before being rescued was all fake. That wasn't a normal life. But a made up one filled with lies.

I still feel fear from strangers though. But not that much since coming back home. Socialising isn't really my favourite thing to do. I usually just cuddle with my brother at home. It helps me calm my mind. So that's exactly what I'm doing right now. Cuddling between Jake and Ezra. They didn't seem to care much about other people's opinions too. Because they kept talking about a kid named Percy...
