Chapter 5 - The Duel

Aria POV

We got even more homework in strategy. We had to duel and win against 3 opponents. Whenever we finished a match we had to fill in a question sheet about what we could do better next time, or what we did well to win and stuff like that.

Looks like I get to start mine at lunch.

It was break so I wondered around campus. I got a good layout of the school in my head and managed to find the hall I had to duel Chaz in at lunch. I found the room my next class would be in along with all the others. I found the school cafeteria which also sold cards.

Finally I made my way outside to just sit and chill for a few minutes. I was sat on one of the carved stones in front of the main buildings entrance when I saw Jaden walking over with 2 Ra yellow students.

"Hey Aria." He beamed.

"What?" I asked.

"Meet my friends. Cyrus..." He said, pointing to the short boy with light blue hair. "And Sebastian."

"Nice to meet you." Sebastian greeted, holding his hand out to shake mine, which I did.

"Yeah...Nice to meet ya." Cyrus smiled.

"I guess." I replied.

"I hear you're going up against Chaz at lunch in a duel." Sebastian stated.

"Yes I am."

"We then good luck. He is one of the schools best students."

"I'll be fine. I have my deck and my skills so everything will be okay."

"Hey! What about we have a short warm up match?" Jaden suggested.

"No thank you. I don't need a warm up."

Ring!

The bell went signalling the end of break. I picked up my bag and stood up.

"I should be getting to class now. See ya."

I turned on my heels and walked off to my 3rd class of the day. Plain old maths, then science. Finally the lunch bell rang.

Hmmm...should I duel Chaz first or eat?....duel.

I walked over to the dueling hall and waited in one of the seats. About 5 minutes later Chaz, Alexis, some other Obelisk girls, Jaden, Cyrus and Sebastian all arrived.

"Ready to get your butt beaten and become my servant?" Chaz mocked.

"Do not serve such petty insults. They only make you seem dumber than you already seem to be." I sighed. "Now let's get this over with."

I stepped up onto one side of the platform and Chaz stood on the other. We put on out duel disc's, put in our decks, and drew seven cards.

"Ladies first." He gestured.

I drew another card and scanned over my hand. 2 traps. 2 spell. 3 monsters, 1 magic. Only 1 monster was a void.

I placed down the two traps and summoned one of my monsters.

"I summon Zuro, in defence mode."

My zombie puma then rised up onto the platform. He was jet black apart from a huge long red bloody scar that ran across his eye. He was covered in old rotting bandages. He had 1200 defence and 1000 attack.

"Your move" I said.

Chaz drew a card and immediately placed it on the field.

"I summon my anarchy dino, in attack mode." He stated.
