Aria's POV
It had been a few days since 'The Dream' and I found myself a little happier. In fact I hadn't had a nightmare at all since then. People have been saying I look different. Guess that's the effect of a decent nights sleep for ya.
"Hey Aria." Alexis greeted as I entered the tennis courts.
I usually refused to do PE but I finally decided to have a go at it.
"Hi." I smiled back.
"I thought you didn't do sports."
"Well I wanted to try it out at least. Maybe I'll surprise myself and actually like it."
"That's good to hear. Wanna play against me?"
"Um...sure."
"Or would you rather play with Ja-"
"No. I'm good thanks." I cutted her off.
There had been rumours going around that me and Jaden are going out, but they were all lies. We kept saying that but people just wouldn't quit. So I've been avoiding him for a little while. Probably not the best choice, but I didn't know how else to deal with the situation.
Me and Alexis started playing, and I was all good until...Jaden bursted into the courts. He made such a loud crash that it knocked my concentration and I ended up missing the ball and falling forwards along with my racket.
"Aria! You okay?" Alexis asked, running to my side of the court.
"Yeah I'm good." I told her, standing up and during my skirt off.
I wanted to wear the shorts but the skirt was all that was left, as I didn't have a PE kit, as I never played.
"Aria?" I heard Jaden question. "Since when did you play sports?"
"Since now. Well tennis. I always liked it, but I stopped." I explained.
"Why?" Alexis asked.
"Umm....never mind. Let's just carry on playing."
Alexis went back to her side, and I was about to serve when Jaden's voice rang again.
"Aria..."
"What now?" I asked.
"Your knee."
I looked down to see that my knee was bleeding. It wasn't just a scrape or a cut, but almost a gash. As if my skin had been torn apart, with a knife.
"H-how did that happen?" I almost panicked.
I looked around and saw that there was some glass in front of me, covered in my blood. The teacher quickly ran over, and it turned out that a couple work men must have accidentally left it there when they had to install new windows earlier. They must have shattered one of the old panes while carrying it and missed a shard while clearing up.
"Let me take you to the infirmary and get your knee patched up."
"I can go on my own. I'm not 5."
"But you're not some sorta warrior either. You can't walk on that. It could get worse."
He had beaten me with logic. I turned to see if Alexis could help, but her pale face indicated she didn't like the sight of blood.
"Fine." I sighed, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
I could feel everyone's eyes burning as we walked off.
I can just hear their comment from here. Oh god why did I ever get involved with this boy?
Once out of the courts, Jaden did the unexpected, and fully carried me bridal style.
