Jaden's POV (DUN DUN DUN!!!)
It had been a good week since the incident between Chaz and Aria. I was really worried about it. She said she didn't care but I knew she was hiding something. I couldn't just sit there and watch her be completely unfazed by...well...EVERYTHING!!!
No matter what it was; a small argument, a big fight, a dueling win or loss - well actually just wins - she just didn't seem to care about any of it. I thought it was normal to be happy and excited whenever you won a duel but Aria... She seemed completely apathetic either way...
Moving on, it was Monday morning and lately Aria hadn't been eating much or talking at all. She'd usually at least give some sort of reply when someone talked to her, even if it was just out of politeness sake. But now all she did was just nod, shake her head or give some sorta grunt or murmur for an answer, if even that.
"Hey Cy..." I began, as we were sat on a bench outside the schools main entrance. "Do you think Aria's okay?"
"What do you mean Jay? She's been acting like she always has." He stated.
"I mean, don't you think she's being a lot less sociable than usual?"
"She has stopped talking to nearly everyone, but I just thought that was because people thought she was some sorta reformed gangster-"
"WHAT?!?! Who said that?!?"
"I dunno the original source, just a rumour spreading around!" He yelled slightly in panic. "Saying how she just have been raised to be violent if she was able to beat Chaz up like she did."
"That's nonsense." I defended.
"I'm not saying it's true. I'm just saying, if you think about it she has NEVER, not even ONCE, said ANYTHING about her family or her past. She barely talks to anyone and doesn't seem to care about anything one way or the other. The only thing she seemed to get mad about was whatever Chaz said that made her fight him back. But neither of then will tell anyone what it was."
I couldn't reply to that. He had a point. Some people did they talk to her, but she just shrugged it off and said questions like that didn't matter.
"Then I'll ask her about it."
Without giving Cy a chance to argue with me, I ran off to our class, where she usually always was now a days. Just as I expected I saw her studying away at her seat.
"Hey Aria!" I called, making my way down the steps.
She seemed to notice my arrival, but opted ignored me. I reached her desk and stopped in front of her.
"What you doing?"
Still she refused to reply.
"...Why are you acting like this?"
She looked at me as if to ask "like what?"
"Ignoring everyone and everything around you. Sure you were kinda like that at the beginning but at least you talked."
She gave out a sigh as she but her lip and reluctantly answered.
"Listen Jaden, it's nothing against anybody. I just think it would be better if I didn't socialise with anybody. It could cause trouble...Like it did with Chaz."
Well at least she's speaking...
I didn't want to ask what I did next, it felt rude and intrusive. But someone would ask her eventually, I may as well have been the one to do it.
"So are the rumours true then?"
"If you're talking about me being a gangster kid then defiantly not."
