Chapter 25 - Together

Aria's POV

Our last lesson of the day ended up being duelling practice. We all headed into the duelling hall and teamed up in 2v2 groups. Of course Jaden me me partner with him, and it turned out we were being made to face Chaz and Alexis.

"What a crazy match this will be." I smiled.

"Got that right." Alexis giggled.

"Now who's gonna go first?" Chaz asked.

"How about me and Alexis do Rock Paper Scissors?" I suggested.

The agreed and me and Alexis stood opposite each other. On the count of three she pulled paper, and I chose scissors. So our team gotta go first.

"Whooo!" Jaden cheered. "Now let's get this party started!"

We all drew our hands and Jaden went first on our team. He ended up getting a full hand of hero-based cards. Mine was a couple void monsters, but they looked different somehow. For example, my Void Joker didn't look evil like it once did. It looked more happy. Normal happy rather than psychotic. The colours and entire design had changed to, it was like they were completely different cards.

"Hey Aria? You gonna play a card or what?" Jaden questioned.

"Oh! Umm. I play my..."

I read the name. It was no longer 'Void' but rather Galaxy.

"What are you playing? What's with that face?"

"It's just...my cards...they...changed."

"How?"

"I play my Galaxy Joker in attack mode." I called, unsure.

But just as always, my joker rose from the ground. But it didn't look evil or sinister. It looked more friendly. It's once evil smirk replaced by a genuine smile. It's dark aura gone and it looked more healthy and human rather than demented and sick.

Before he was basically just an even more demonic and evil version of the Joker from batman, but now he looked rather handsome. His skin still light but not dead pale, his facial features were more in proportion, his hair looked more soft and flowey as his smile was kind. His suit reamined the same scheme of green, purple and white, but they were all sparkly and new. Like stars were sewn into the fabric.

"Galaxy?"

"I have no idea. I guess all my cards got purified after that spirit left. She was possessing my deck after all so... Maybe by getting rid of her all my cards became good too?"

Wait. What if my Void deck wasn't supposed to be Void. What if it was Galaxy all along but somehow that evil spirit changed them...?!?

The duel carried out. All my 'Void' cards had been changed to 'Galaxy.'  I wasn't sure why but I could theorise more later. Me and Jaden had a duel to win.

After me and Jaden had won, by 100 LP between us, I was sat wondering what was up with my cards.

"What do you think happened to your deck?" Alexis asked.

"I have no clue. They were Void before...how can cards just change like that?"
