Ava's POV
The sun peeked softly through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Aura Rae stirred first, her tiny fingers stretching as she opened her eyes. Matthew Miles followed with a quiet yawn, snuggling closer to me. I smiled, brushing my hair from my face as I looked at Alex, still asleep beside me, his arm wrapped protectively around me.
Ava: whispering "Good morning, my loves."
Alex: stirring, voice husky with sleep "Morning... sleepyheads." He kissed me deeply before looking at the twins. "Did we all sleep well?"
Aura Rae: giggling softly "Mama!"
Matthew Miles: cooing and reaching for me
Ava: -smiling, picking them up gently- "Yes, babies... Mama's here."
Alex: -watching us-, his eyes soft "You make them so happy... and you make me happy too."
Ava: -blushing slightly- "I couldn't do any of this without you."
Alex: pulling me close again "You'll never have to. I'm here for all of it. For you, for them... for us."
Aura Rae: giggling and grabbing Alex's finger "Daddy?"
Alex: -smiling, gently taking her hand- "Good morning, princess."
Matthew Miles: cooing, reaching for Alex too
Ava: -laughing softly- "Looks like you're a hit with both of them already."
Alex: -kissing my cheek- "I think we all belong together, don't we?"
Ava: -resting my head against his shoulder- "Yes... we really do."
We spent the morning in quiet chaos, feeding the babies, changing diapers, and stealing small moments of closeness when the twins let us. Every giggle, every coo, felt like magic — binding us together, building the family we had fought so hard to protect.
Alex: -leaning down, whispering in my ear as I held the twins- "You're incredible, Ava. Seeing you with them... it's everything."
Ava: -smiling, heart full- "I love you, Alexander Smith."
Alex: kissing my forehead softly "And I love you, more than words can say."
For a moment, nothing else mattered — not Matt, not Skylar, not the world outside. Just us, just the morning light, just our family finally whole, even if it was complicated.
