Kat's POV

The night was quiet except for the soft hum of the wind outside. Everyone had gone to bed — Matt, Skylar, even little Nick, who had insisted on saying "Night-night Sissy Kat, otay?" before toddling off to his room.

I sat at the kitchen table, the letter from Trevor beside me. A clean sheet of paper waited in front of me, and for once, I didn't hesitate.

I picked up the pen and began to write.

Dear Trevor,

Your letter... it broke me and healed me all at once. I read it over and over, and every word felt like a piece of the man I fell in love with coming back to life.

You said you're becoming someone worth loving again — but you always were. You just couldn't see it through the pain. I'm proud of you, Trevor. So proud. I know how hard it is to face the truth, but you're doing it, and that's everything.

I want you to know that I still believe in you. I still love you. And I'll be here when you're ready to come home — not the old home, but a new one we'll build together, one that's stronger and full of healing.

You once promised me forever. Maybe forever doesn't mean perfect... maybe it just means not giving up.

Keep fighting, Trevor. Keep healing. I'll be waiting.

Always yours, Kat

She folded the letter gently and placed it in the envelope, her tears falling softly onto the table. But they weren't sad tears — they were full of hope.

Kat: -whispering to herself- "You're coming home, Trevor. I can feel it."

Ava's POV – The Next Morning

The twins were babbling in their playpen, Aura Rae tossing her stuffed bunny into the air while Matthew Miles giggled beside her. I smiled, pouring a cup of coffee, when my phone buzzed.

A message from Kat.

I opened it and saw a picture — the letter she'd written, sealed and ready to send.

Ava: -softly- "She finally wrote him back."

Alex: -walking over, setting down his mug- "Trevor?"

Ava: -nodding- "Yeah. She said he's doing better — really trying this time."

Alex: -smiling faintly- "That's good to hear from my son. Maybe this family's starting to heal after all."

Ava: -looking up at him, eyes misty- "We've all been through so much... but maybe all of it led us right here."

Alex: -gently kissing her forehead- "Right where we're meant to be."

Ava: -smiling softly- "You think everyone will be okay?"

Alex: -looking toward the twins- "I think we already are."

Aura Rae: -giggling, waving her bunny- "Mama!"

Matthew Miles: -clapping his hands- "Dada!"

Ava: -laughing, heart full- "See? They already know what love looks like."

The morning light spilled through the window, golden and warm, touching every corner of the house — and somewhere miles away, Trevor felt that same warmth, knowing that forgiveness and love were waiting for him.
