I was literally frozen. My hands clutched the paper so tightly, I felt like it would rip in two any second. Why was Jordan choosing now to tell me what happened? What would my friends say if I was going to meet Jordan by myself? What would Alejandro say?I'm also forgetting I had no idea where the river was, who would take me there?
"Katie!"
I stuffed the letter in my pocket as I forced a smile on my face. I turned to see Ella walking towards me chewing on a biscuit.
"Breakfast's cooking, we have biscuits, bacon, eggs-Robin and Alejandro went crazy searching for the chickens. Selena's magic is limited so she couldn't just poof eggs."
"What about Jordan? Usually he and Robin would take care of the 'manly' stuff."
"Well, Jordan said he'd rather not since Robin hates him and all, not like Robin will work any better with Alejandro considering Robin's a jerk head. And no one's seen Jordan this morning."
My mind flashed to remembering why. "Do you know where the river is? I want to get fresh again before I join y'all for breakfast."
Ella shook her head. "The only one who actually managed to go to the river and come back without getting dangerously lost was Robin."
Robin? I had to go with Robin in order to get to Jordan and finally talk? Darn it, this isn't my day. First I was splashed by freezing water, then I almost died of shock from the letter, and now I have to travel with an annoying jerk who I might still have a crush on.
"Ella," I took a deep breath before I said the next words, "where is Robin?"
Ella pointed her thumb over her shoulder. "A clearing not too far from here, he said something about having to practice."
"I think I have to ask him something."
Ella blinked. "You want to talk to Robin? Voluntarily?"
I crossed my arms. "Hey, he's not that much of a jerk."
Ella smirked. "Defending your crush, I see. I thought you and Alejandro were a thing now, or did you realize that he's only a friend and saw the light?"
It was my turn to widen my eyes. "Wait, you don't want me to date Alejandro?"
Ella gasped, quickly taking my hands. "No, no, that's not what I meant. I just think-I think you're moving too fast. I mean, you haven't seen the guy in forever and now you're dating him. I know that you know this guy and you've liked him and everything, but I still think you should wait. You had this crush on Robin for awhile and it's-"
I chuckled, squeezing Ella's hands in reassurance. "Don't worry, Alejandro and I aren't dating. His mission is to win me over, I just need to ask Robin something that's extremely important."
"Alright, I'll let you go. But don't hesitate on talking to me if you need anything, okay? I am your best friend after all."
I smiled. "Best friends."

Robin had painted an old fashioned target on a tree and was shooting arrow after arrow with his bow. I have to admit, he looked physically attractive in his Robin Hood costume with his sweat glistening in the sunlight, hair ruffled from his workout-wait...control yourself Katie.
