Ella's POV
"So, who is this turtle walking around us? Is he your pet?" I asked while sipping a mysterious delicious liquid from a teacup.
A cute turquoise turtle was hobbling across from me and I leaned down to stroke his shell. He looked to be about a small size baby and he was just adorable to look at. Marina gingerly picked him up and gazed at him as if she was looking at a waterfall.
"This is Prince Ijorid, he's the prince of this story."
"Uh, what? How did he turn into a turtle?" Snow asked.
"Sierra turned him into a turtle, he's actually very handsome and charming so don't let his hard shelled exterior fool you. I'm still trying to figure out how to change him back; this turtle used to be Sierra's love."
"You sound like you're in love with him," Selena remarked.
Marina blushed and set him down, quickly walking away to the bookshelves. She began to fiddle with the books and pretend to read them. My attention was diverted to Robin when he coughed as he was drinking his tea. "Wait, he actually dated our music teacher? Eww, gross."
Selena rolled her eyes at Robin's response. "Everyone dates Robin,"
"I knew that, doesn't change the fact that it's gross when older people still date when they're supposed to be married and stuff."
"We're immortal and have lived for at least a hundred years doofus," Selena shot.
"And, well, none of us except Briar are dating."
My statement was met with silence, that was kind of strange. Snow was single handedly the most beautiful girl in the school yet she wasn't interested in anyone, I was also a beautiful princess and Selena was just a fairy godmother, Robin and Jordan were handsome heroes yet didn't have girlfriends. Alejandro? Well, he was busy pursuing Katie while the guys in this group followed.
"Again, just because we're single doesn't mean we're fairytale losers. At least y'all aren't, I'm a freaking fairy godmother. You're fairytale heroes, princesses, and princes. Be glad y'all have that," Selena grumped as she turned away from us. She rested her chin on her joined legs, not glancing at anyone.
"Selena has a point," Jordan said as the tension remained. "We do have redeeming qualities, we're not defined by our relationship status but rather who we are."
"This is the worst talk I have ever heard," Marina interjected as she walked down from her ladder at the bookshelves. I didn't think she was paying attention to our conversation.
"Let me ask you something. Are you friends? Every single one of you," Marina asked.
Selena raised her hand like a student in school. "Um, I'm friends with Ella, I'm getting to know Snow, and acquaintances with the rest of them."
"I'm friends with the nice Briar and Ella," Snow replied.
"Okay, stop. I don't even want to hear the rest of y'all say who you're friends with," Marina replied as she closed her eyes, rubbing them in frustration.
Robin pouted. "Oh come on, I was going to share I'm frenemies with Jordan, I don't like Alejandro who's that brooding suspicious guy in the corner, I tolerate Selena," he took this moment to stick his tongue out at her, Selena made a fist, "and the rest are okay."
"Guys, how are you supposed to defeat Ms. Sierra when none of y'all know each other? Ella, Selena, and Snow seem to be on the right track considering they're the only ones who seem to be working together. Why is that?"
