Ella's POV
All of us had gathered at a secret area in the forest. We were sure the kids wouldn't be able to see us, they were a positive nightmare. I'm pretty sure there was still mashed potatoes stuck in my ear from one of the kids' attacks. Everyone pretty much looked worn out from so much torture that no one had spoken for quite a while. Selena had paint on her face and dirt streamed on her clothes. Robin's hair was drizzling with water and was completely soaked, Briar had leaves sticking in her hair with dirt also present in her clothing, and the rest were even worse.
Selena reached for her wand in her boot only to hold nothing in her hand and her eyes widened. "Oh no, my wand's missing!"
Jordan, who had some sort of green goo dripping off his slime covered body, didn't move. "Say goodbye to your wand, then. Cause there's no way we're going to get it back."
Robin stirred while frowning. "If only I had a camera to show the world Prince Charming was defeated by children."
"So was the notorious Robin Hood, if only Nottingham knew all it took to defeat Robin was by using a savage army of children," Jordan refuted.
"Guys, shut up," I shot.
Snow was the only one not affected by the attack, the kids were too dazzled by her appearance that they couldn't even try to hit her with something disgusting. "Ella's right, we have to find a way out of this story if we have any chance to defeat Ms. Sierra."
Alejandro was standing guard, his jaw was clenched and his arm was resting on a tree. He was the most isolated and serious person I had ever met, his face only lit up when he was near Katie. It made me feel sorry for the guy who yearned for her heart despite Katie having given it to Robin.
"Selena has to get her wand back, with it, we can scare those kids into submission," Alejandro said which caused us to turn to him in surprise. This was the first time he had spoken since Katie was transported back to our home.
"I'm all for it cause we'll get my wand back, but how's that going to help us with getting out of here? What's the plan once we get my wand?" Selena asked.
Alejandro turned his head back removing his stance from the tree. "Scare them, kids easily get scared once they find out you have magic. Just a little thunder or magic blast should do the trick and then they'll listen to you. Once you have their respect or fear, we can ask them to give us the key."
"I don't have that kind of power, the best I can do is change a pumpkin into a carriage," Selena said.
Alejandro let a small smile slip on his face. I was glad he liked the joke, it actually made me believe that Alejandro was a human being capable of laughter. I was Katie's best friend, I had to approve of her boyfriend. Or whatever he was to her, to be honest, she has 3 guys trailing after. How did a single mortie have that? I mean I know she's special and beautiful, but 3 guys?
Who's the fourth?Getting off track here, Alejandro stuck his hand in his pocket. "That will be enough. We just have to find a pumpkin and we're all set."
"Great idea except we don't know where or if they even grow pumpkins here," Briar pointed out.
"Maybe we could ask them?"
"Great idea, ask the kids who just spilled juice in my ears to give us directions. I'm pretty sure they'll respect us this time," Robin replied.
Snow stood up glaring at Robin. "I'm pretty sure I can ask them, last time they didn't attack me so this time they will cooperate."
"I guess it would be worth a try," Briar said, hesitant.
