"Levi... I'm scared..."
The raven haired man walked down an isle of a random book store he had never been in, looking for nothing in particular. It was just too cold to be outside any longer, and his usual spot was another few miles away. He was just hoping to find something interesting since he became easily bored with most literature. All stories seemed to follow the same cliches. He had made it his weekly mission to find an actual original concept that wouldn't follow the same routine as everything else.
He carefully pulled out a book with a blue cover for no particular reason. He turned it over and started reading the back, hoping there would be something promising about it.
"Tch. The bleeding won't stop."
He put it back in its original spot once he had deemed it completely ordinary. He kept on his way, looking for something to catch his steel grey eyes. Something did, but it wasn't a book.
"It's no use..."
He caught a flash of (h/c) hair as someone walked across the isles. Something told the dark haired male to follow. Like something inside of him yearned for this person. It was a strange feeling for someone who had never seriously been in love. And it was an especially weird feeling to have for someone he hadn't even had a good look at.
"Don't say that. Please don't say that."
Levi walked into the next isle and saw a girl sitting cross legged on the ground, looking at the bottom row of books. She was holding her coat together just below her throat, keeping it closed. She seemed so familiar to him, but he couldn't put his finger on exactly where he had seen her before.
"You know it's true, Levi."
He started looking at the shelves as he made his way closer to her. He occasionally stole glances at her to just look at her. She was indescribably beautiful to him.
"Don't go. Not yet."
He was finally standing next to her. But now he was too nervous to look at her. He didn't know what to say because all the thoughts running through his mind were insane.
"L-Levi?" A small voice said. He looked down to see a pair of (e/c) eyes looking up at him. He felt like he had looked into those eyes thousands of times before and this was the first time he had been graced with their gaze in a long time.
They stared into each other's eyes for a minute, neither saying a word.
"I'm sorry we never got to live our lives together... I feel like this whole thing would have been over soon."
"I-I'm sorry, sir. I just... I feel like I know you from somewhere..." The girl finally said.
"Just wait a little while longer, you brat."
Levi furrowed his eyebrows, trying to place a name on this woman before him. He felt it in his heart, but it felt like it hadn't been uttered in so long he would have to pry open the box that held it for so long.
"I-I'll always wait for you."
"(Y/n)?"
Heyo! Sorry I haven't updated in forever. No excuse. I just get easily bored with what I'm doing.
The song that inspired this chapter was "Lucy" by Skillet. I highly recommend you listen to the song to better understand the story.
I want to dedicate this chapter to a girl named Lucy at my school, who unfortunately passed away from cancer this year. RIP Lucy. We all miss you!
