The little boy stood on the tips of his toes, studying the little (h/c) baby.
"Isn't she cute, Levi?" His mother asked, kneeling down to his level. Levi looked over at his mother, a stern look on his face.
"She's okay." The toddler replied. His mother softly chuckled. She put her hand on his back and stood up.
"Let's go back downstairs and say goodbye to Mrs. (L/n). Remember to tell her 'thank you' for having us over to see the baby." His mother said, guiding her son out of the light pink nursery.

"You're making a mess." The raven haired child pouted, crossing his arms. The little (e/c) eyed girl looked up from her coloring book at him, a sweet smile on her face.
"Come color." The toddler giggled. She turned her attention back to the dolphin she was coloring red. Levi huffed and plopped himself on the ground, legs criss crossed.
"Dolphins aren't red." He mumbled.
"My dolphin is." (Y/n) replied. "I like red."
He gave up and just allowed (y/n) to color the dolphin red, her hand pressing the crayon with great pressure. She hummed a little song and swung her legs, happy to have Levi keep her company.

"Levi! Levi!" You called trotting up to the grey eyed boy. He glanced over at you, huffing, and then back at the sidewalk before him. You caught your breath before speaking up. "Why don't you ever talk to me in school?" You pouted.
"Because you're in third grade and I'm in fifth." He said. You furrowed your eye brows and frowned more.
"When will I be old enough to talk to you?" You asked. You always admired your neighbor and you were very distressed that he stopped talking to you in school. He used to always wave back at you in the hallway, even if it was small and awkward. But now he was completely ignoring you.
"Never." He said, turning on his heels and walking to his front door. You sighed as you watched him enter his house.
_____
"I'm so sorry, Levi..." You said softly, squeezing his hand. He swallowed hard and looked over at you, his head hung low.
"What's going to happen to me?" He asked softly, the fear evident in his voice. You didn't know how to answer that.
His parents were the only family he knew. Both of their parents were long gone and both had no siblings, except for Levi's mother. But she never spoke of her brother. The closest relatives he had were fifth cousins he never met that lived in France. They probably had never even heard of Levi.
Your mother approached you two, her black skirt swaying with the movement of her hips. Her makeup was smudged slightly from crying.
"Levi, we're taking you home." Your mother said, staring into the raven haired middle schooler's steel grey eyes. "You can stay in our guest room."
He slightly nodded and your mother left you two to yourselves. She knew you were probably what was best for him in his time of need. The therapist said that Levi was extremely emotionally traumatized, to the point where he would never be the same. You were his closest and dearest friend. He trusted you more than anyone else.
_____
"Levi... I don't know how to get to my homeroom." You said nervously, looking up at the junior you were walking next to. He just gave a deep sigh and took the paper with your schedule out of your hand.
"I'll walk you there." He mumbled.
You pushed through the crowded hallway, full of students reuniting with friends they lost contact with over the summer. For you, this was a new school. It was your freshmen year, which was short of terrifying. But of course, you had Levi there to guide you.
