You had once again made the mistake of staying in the library until the sun went down. Once again, you would have to walk across campus to your dorm room. It was a daunting task since recently, there had been reports of people getting mugged on and around campus.

But you figured if you stayed on the path, the street lights guiding your way, that you would be safe. So you slipped into your coat, grabbed your bag, and exited the library by yourself.

There was a full moon with no stars gracing the sky with their presence. It was still a beautiful scene, like something out of a movie. You would have stopped to admire it, but the frigid winter wind ushered you to get to your destination.

You hugged your body to keep warm in the winter chill. You thought about home as your boots tapped the concrete path. You were not going to be able to return home for the holidays, which deeply saddened you. You wished that you hadn't decided to travel half way across the country for college. You were alone with only a phone to connect you to the people you left behind.

"Hey, sweetheart." A raspy voice said tauntingly. You turned around on your heels to face the owner. It was a man who appeared to only be a few years older than you, but towered over you. You took a step back. "What do you have in the bag?" He asked.

"Nothing." You answered, keeping your voice calm. The answer wasn't a lie. All you had in the backpack was a few books and your assignments. The only thing of value was your cellphone, which was safely tucked in your coat pocket.

"Then I'll take something else from you..." The man smirked, stepping towards you. Your heart began to pound uncontrollably. Your muscles tensed, ready to try to run away. You knew you wouldn't be able to fight him due to his large stature, but if you could run to the street, you would be safe. There were people and cars there.

Just as you were about to twist your body around and run, the man firmly gripped your arm, preventing you from moving.

"Let me go." You said firmly, furrowing your eye brows. He just pulled you into him and began unzipping your coat.

"Oi!" Another voice boomed. You turned your head to the side to see someone emerge into the street light. His stormy grey eyes, glinting, locked onto the man's brown ones. "Let her go." His jaw clenched.

"Just keep walking, shortstop." The original man huffed.

"Tch. I'm going to ask you once more, since I'm feeling nice today," the raven haired man made his way towards you two, "get your filthy hands off of her."

"Stay here, sweetheart." The thug said to you, pushing you onto the ground. He than turned his attention back onto the other man. "Let's make this quick."

He approached the dark haired man. Before he could even get into a fighting stance, the shorter man delivered a swift punch to his jaw. The thug looked at his opponent in shock for a moment. He sip some blood out of his mouth and smirked.

"Not as pathetic as I thought." He laughed. "Very well. Guess I won't feel bad when I beat the shit out of you."

He quickly threw a punch, but the shorter man ducked and kicked him in the knee. The thug's leg gave out and he hit the ground. Before brown eyed man could stand, your rescuer kicked him in the stomach. You heard the thug wince in pain as he curled up into a fetal position.

"Can this is be over now?" The man said in a bored tone, his charcoal bangs looming over his piercing eyes. When the thug didn't respond, he just stepped over him and made his way to you.

He extended his hand out to you to help you off the ground. Gingerly, you took it.

"T-Thank you." You said softly, looking up at him. He sort of nodded his head.
