You sat on the windowsill, looking out at the cars as they light up the dark night. The rain had been falling heavily for days now, but it matched how you had been feeling the past few days.

Depressed.

That was why you were in that hospital room.

It had been drilled into your head that suicide was never the answer to solve what problems life threw at you. Ever since you started spending your Thursday nights with a therapist, that had been all you had heard. Your parents and friends were constantly on your back about everything you did that could have been perceived as harmful since you started going. They didn't know that they were just making things worse for you.

So, you decided to find a bottle of pills to make it go away.

Too bad someone found you and called 911.

"(y/n)?" Someone asked from the door. You didn't even have to look over to see who it was. You could just tell. A few days ago, you had heard that exact voice call your name, right as you were slipping away into death.

"Hi." You said, taking a shaky breath, trying your best not to cry.

"You can cry, it's alright." He said softly. You heard him slowly make his way across the room. He stood beside you at the window, gazing outside. The lights gently hit his face, while his hair was casting small shadows. He didn't say anything for a minute, but then he sighed and ran his fingers though is head.

"I have to ask you something before it eats away at me entirely." Levi paused for a second, waiting to see if you responded, "Why didn't you call me if you were feeling like that?"

You took a sharp breath, the question catching you off guard. However, your face remained emotionless and you continued blanking staring out the window. You didn't exactly know how to answer the question, or if you wanted to. It wasn't like he really cared anyway. If someone really cared about you, than you wouldn't have felt like killing yourself in the first place. Everyone was a liar that just acted like they cared. But you gave him a more honest answer.

"Because I didn't want to be saved."

Things were quiet again.

"(y/n)..." Levi said tiredly. "I know you don't believe it, but I do care about you. I don't want you gone."

"It doesn't matter." You said with a hint of bitterness in your voice, "There isn't any purpose for me to be alive. I don't have a meaning."

"How can you say that? You're eighteen. You haven't had a chance to do anything with your life." He said, "You haven't gone to college. You haven't gotten to buy a car or a house. You haven't traveled. You haven't fallen in love."

He was right. And it hurt. Your eyes filled up with tears, and then you just started to cry. Levi wrapped his arms around you, stroking your (h/c) hair gently. Maybe he did care. Maybe he really didn't want to see you dead. Maybe he was safe. You had known him since seventh grade, and he was the only person who had really stuck by you since. All your friends just seemed to come and go in your life, but for some reason he remained.

"Levi?" You asked.

"Hmm?"

"I think I've done one of the things on your list."
