Chapter 9

I woke up and went to sit up but was greeted with a pain in between my shoulder and chest and it went all the way though until bursting out the other side. I looked to the side a little and saw Mr Gold. I sighed.
" Come to finish me off? "He shook his head.
" I told Belle myself, I'd rather she hear it from me than you, " he said holding his cane. I smiled a little.
" Probably wasn't easy to tell her, but it was the right thing, " I said, " I wasn't going to say anything, I was just angry. Winter took care of me and I took care of her, when you killed her, I felt alone, " I said staring at the ceiling.
" Let's start on a clean slate, truce? " he held out his hand and I shook it. Mum and Dad came in and asked me if I was ok, how I was feeling, did I need anything. I couldn't help but laugh.
" I'm fine, I'll be looked after here. I only got impaled on a hook, you did the same to Gold, " I chuckled and so did he. Dad looked a bit sheepish. I took a deep breath which hurt a little.
" Any ideas who might be doing this, " Gold asked as everyone came through to sit down.
" Zelena, " I said as I heard the voices of those who Mum hurt. She backed away a little remembering what happened when we got close. Beside Emma was the man who warned me about her.
" Hi remember me? " He asked taking off his hat.
" Jefferson right? Thank you for the warning, " I said nodding. Dr Whale came through and smiled at Ruby.
" Is she ok to move? " Mum asked breaking the doctor out of his thoughts.
" Yes but no big activity or the wound will open up, she'll have re bandage her wound once a day for two weeks and then it should be ok from there. " I nodded a thanks. I got up and got changed into some spare clothes. Belle gave me hand getting up and sorted my clothes which made me remember the times when she used to raise me like a mother. Dad had my sword and we all knew where we were going. We got a call from the asylum. The very place we were thinking of. I saw Mums face and knew it couldn't be good. She hung up the phone and called Robin.
" The baby is coming, " Mum said to the phone. Dad looked very serious. Mum went away to have the conversation in private. Dad pulled me to the side.
" Look love, I think it's better to let Regina and Robin go to with you. To be honest I still love your mother but she's moved on. I just don't want to be there, " he said looking at the ground then toward me, " You understand? "
I nodded and hugged him wincing a little.
" I'll meet you at the Jolly Roger and we can go sailing for a bit. Let's not pick up anything this time, " I said grinning. He smiled back and I walked back just in time to hear mum hang up. She sighed.
" Robins leaving Storybrooke, he said Roland is in too much danger, " she looked really sad. I gave her a hug and she started to cry, " Everyones leaving, Robin, Roland, my mother. " I then shook my head.
" I'm not leaving, neither is Dad, Snow, Emma, David, Henry, you've got loads of people, " I felt a smile on her face as she dried her tears, " I'll drive, " I joked and we walked to the car. She gave a couple of coughs and I frowned.
" Want me to call Belle to give us a ride. I'd say Ruby but even she's sick because of her wolf powers, " Regina gave a quick nod before erupting into a fit of coughs. I called Belle.
" Sorry to be a pain but could you give us a lift to the asylum? Me and Mum are a bit, immobilised, " I said and I heard Belle grabbing her keys.
" I'll be there in a jiffy, " she said in her usual happy voice and hung up. We waited for five minutes and Belle came to pick us up. We got in the car and started the drive.
By the time we arrived Zelena had given birth and was holding her child. She was smirking and I leaned on my sword like Gold and his cane and Mum looked awful. Belle had come in with us as she was probably the strongest of us right now.
" It's a girl, " she said rocking the baby in her arms.
" We know your somehow tied to the whats been happening, " Mum said and approached her trying to look threatening but with her pale complexion and weak walk it didn't work.
" Uh, uh wouldn't want to make this child motherless, but then again you must be used to that by now, " she glanced at me and back at Mum again. She continued on her little rant.
" I guess mothers can be replaced, am I right in thinking Belle taught you your knowledge of everything, except sailing and how to use magic, of course, " she said. I didn't answer because she was right, but I couldn't give her that satisfaction. She grinned.
" Don't you dare, " a whisper said and then their voice was raised, " Don't you dare say a mother can be replaced! They will always have a place in your heart and even if you never met them you can know that you'll make them proud! " but it wasn't me or Mum that had said that, it was Belle. She tried to grab my sword but I had just enough power to stop her. She was panting, anger radiating from her. The baby started crying. Zelena disappeared in smoke, the same kind that the imposter of Dad disappeared in but im a different colour. Leaving the baby in a blanket. I picked her up and rocked her in my right arm, my good arm. She stopped crying. I smiled and then noticed a letter had been left with the child and I read it out.

My child
When I was born I too was left by my mother, I understand now and perhaps you will too one day. I will leave you and hope that you grow up to be like me

I looked down at the little girl in my arms and couldn't help but awe in her beauty.
