Chapter 13

Memory
In the authors world I had a very different life. Instead of Hook and Belle and Rumple raising me I was left on my own. Of course everyone passed me off as a worthless girl. It took me a while but I got every job I could and worked enough to keep a crappy roof over my head. One day I ran into Snow White. She was on the hunt for Regina the bandit, who had inspired me to rebel against her. She walked over to me in her large black dress and held my up by my throat. I hadn't mastered my magic, every time I tried to use if a pathetic spark came out of my hand. So I was just there gasping for air as I struggled helplessly.
" Where. Is. Regina? " she interrogated. I barely manage to reply with a simple sentence.
" Not telling, " her grip tightened and my lungs were burning, longing for the cold air to enter my mouth.
" Are you sure? " she asked and seeing as I couldn't talk I just nodded, " You would lay down your life for her,?"
" Gladly, " my vision started to black out when an arrow grazed Snows arm. She let me go I regained my strength, breath and vision. I looked up to see her, the bandit Regina. She was on a horse riding, I jumped on the back and left Snow screaming in fustration. I gave a quick laugh.
" I heard what you said, " Regina explained.
" Well I'm just another one of the hundreds who support you, " I shrugged. Her eyes widened in shock.
" Anyone else would have blabbed, begged for mercy or said anything to save their skin! " she said and I smiled, " Can I drop you off anywhere? "
I shook my head.
" Snow is probably still at my house and I haven't got any family so, " I shrugged. She frowned.
" Well, you could stay with me, for a while, " she started, " I'm probably person to hang around with b- " I interrupted her.
" No I'm really honoured. I mean I have always looked up to you. Thank you, " I finally said. She smiled and I smiled back.

Reality

We hit the ground and it harshly battered against us. I grunted softly rubbing my head. I looked around and saw Henry and Snow but no one else. I shot up and looked everywhere. I went to Henry's side and he woke up.
" Are you ok? " I asked checking for injuries he nodded and we checked on Snow. She had bashed her head in, not severely, on a rock. I got out the bandages and wrapped her head up.
" Henry, your waterbottle, " I held my out hand and he gave it to me.
Snow woke up.
" Wh- " I cut her off.
" Don't talk, drink up, " I said shushing her, " She needs to rest the night and then we can move, " I said turning to Henry.
" B-but Mum! " he protested, " She's still out there, " he stood up and I joined him.
" I know Henry but Snow'll just get worse if we go, " I pulled him into a hug, " We'll find her tomorrow, " he hugged me back.
" I'll find some wood to burn, " he said and rushed off into the forest. I kept recalling how Emma saved my mums life. I now owe her big time, I owe her my life. The darkness had absorbed her and left the dagger. We had it in my bag in case we had to use it. Henry came back with a ton of wood and so we burned it. Henry and Snow had fallen asleep hugging near the fire, they were still shivering. I couldn't sleep so I just wrapped my cloak around them. Sure it was freezing but I have to looked after them, they are my family after all. I had my sword drawn in case anyone approached and tried to hurt them. I sat on a tree branch and sighed. I had the family photo in my hand.
" I will find you if it is the last thing I do, " I muttered combining the two family phrases. Charming and Snow always found each other so I hope Mum was with him. She had said she would destroy their happiness if it was the last thing she did, ironically she became part of their happiness. I chuckled and saw two figures approaching Snow and Henry. I stood up on the branch and I threw a fireball. It didn't hit them but it lit up their faces.
" Stop Summer, " the familiar accent said.
" Belle! Ruby! " I jumped down to greet them sheepishly, " Sorry about the fireball, "
Snow and Henry woke up. We all smiled and cuddled in together as I was absolutely freezing. Belle wrapped me up in her cloak even though I got mine back. We all fell asleep together in a huddle. Belle and Ruby had woke up first and had gotten some berries. We all woke up finally and saw Snow was all better.
" Let's go find Mum, both 'em, " I smirked at Henry's comment and nodded. We walked through the forest for half the day and found Charming, Jefferson and Dad.
" Does that mean our Mum is out there alone? " I said looking around. They all frowned, looked at each other or the ground. I sprinted into the woods calling for her. Henry had been held back. Dad was right behind me, I fell over a root and Dad came down to me and I was crying, he comforted me.
" We can't split up, " he said brushing away my tears.
" I will find her, if it's the last thing I do, " I said leaning into him. As everyone started to find us I wiped away my tears. I took in a deep shaky breath and I looked better.
" Are you ok? " Snow asked, even though my eyes were clearly puffy. I guess that's why everyone pulled me into a hug but I pushed them off.
" Let's focus on finding Mum, " I said and then walked off. I don't need hugs and comfort. I need Mum.
