The Evil Queens Daughter

Chapter 4

After a couple of weeks I had made a raft. It had taken a while but I had gathered enough supplies for a couple of weeks on the ocean, enough to get away. I pushed it to the shore and I pushed it to the tide. In a couple of hours the tide would rise and I'd be taken away. I sat on the wooden raft and stared into the forest abyss and the town in the distance. I sighed.
I heard someone yell " Summer! " I turned and saw Bambi.
" Hey what're you doing here, " I said not standing up. He sighed and caught his breath.
" I-I wanted to stop my best friend from going away, " he then looked away, " I love Pocahontas, " he said and I smiled. It was ok I understood.
" Look I'm just being a nuisance, it's not forever, " I said and hugged him.
A familiar voice spoke up, on the verge of tears, " You were never a nuisance, " my mum was standing on the beach and felt a pang of guilt.
" But all the stuff with Zelena, " I said also on the verge of tears also, " I've just been a problem. "
She shrugged " So what you talked to my sister, you haven't done anything that bad, " I leaped off my boat and hugged my mum both of us refusing to let go after not seeing each other for weeks.
" Now, you need a bath, " I laughed and so did she. We climbed into the car and there was a silence that was neither awkward or comforting, it was just silent.
I got into the shower and started to wash my hair and body. I got out and dried my hair and got dressed. All of a sudden piercing screams entered my head followed by a cackle that sounded like Zelena. I grunted and curled into a ball. I must have made more noise than I thought because Henry came into my room and helped me to my feet. The cackle faded away but the voices remained.
" Henry? Whats all the voices about? It hurts so much, " He gave me a confused look.
" There isn't any voices, " we approached Regina and they only got louder. Henry told her everything and then I remembered. We all spat out the wicked name in unison, " Zelena, "
So long as we were a good distance away the voices were nothing more than background noise. There were so many voices, so many screams of agony. Could my mother really cause all of them?
I sat on my bed and Henry was with me.
" Henry, what was our mother like? In the Enchanted Forest, " I asked staring at the wall behind him.
" I can't tell you she was a hero, I'm sorry, she was called the Evil Queen. She had killed many people and inspired quite a bit of fear, " he said and the pulled something out of his bag, " Here read this, you'll know about everyone then. "
I read it and some parts I was pretty astounded, others I cried. There was one things the book didn't tell me, who is my father? I went into the living room and kept to the minimum distance from Mum. I took in a breath
" Mum, whose my dad, " I asked
She couldn't even look at me.
" Somone I can't have, " she said in a quiet and low voice, " I'd rather not talk about it, " she was about to walk away.
" Yeah b-, " I started but was interrupted with her shouting at me.
" SUMMER, please, " she gave me a glare so I walked back to my room. I gulped, why was it so hard for her to tell me? I had to think of something else. I knew one person who could possibly help. A man who taught me how to use magic, which I didn't often after a falling out with him. I got on a hoodie and sneakers and left the house. I walked down the street and came to a pawn shop. I took in a deep breath and walked in. Belle was standing there dusting the shop and turned around.
" Erm hi, " I said awkwardly, " Miss me? " she smiled and came over and hugged me, " You know I've been getting an awful lot of hugs. "
She just laughed and called Rumplestiltskin which made me uneasy. He had raised me after I fell off of Hooks ship for 4 years but we had a disagreement. He came out with a cane and had a straight face.
" Rumplestiltskin, or Mr Gold, " I ask shifting my weight from one foot to another.
" Mr Gold will do fine, it's less of a mouthful, " he said swinging his cane, " What can I do for you, " he stopped it.
" I want to know who my father is, " I said covering any annoyance or anger from him.
" I'll tell you, if you give me a sample of your magic, " he said with a smirk.
" You know I don't use my magic much, " I said through gritted teeth. He didn't reply so we stared each other down until in my hand I made a sparkle I held out and waited for him to take it. He approached me slowly like I would suddenly turn it into a fireball, which didn't sound like a bad idea. He snatched it from my hand and absorbed it.
" Hook, " he said plainly, " Is your father, " He started to walk away.
" Why didn't he tell me, " I thought out loud.
" Well it's obviously just as painful a memory for him as it is your dear old Mum, " he sneered and then closed the door to the back room. I was ready to smash the place up. How dare he say it so simply, how dare he not even act like we knew each other. Then again I to was to blame as well, mostly him but I guess me too. Belle probably saw he emotional changes in me and put her arm over my shoulder.
" He's changing, he really is, " she said in a reassuring voice.
" I hope he is, for his sakes, " I left the shop and went down to the docks. I never realised it but I was also angry at Hook. Why didn't he just tell me. Whats so painful that he can't tell me.
