Chapter 17

I had woke up in different moments for just a minute.
One of them was being pulled in to the sandy shore. Kai was looking down at me. He was trying to get me to cough up the water inside of me. It wasn't pretty but I was able to get enough out to breathe properly again. I then again woke when I felt the speed of people rushing me on a bed through the hospital. Maybe I was on morphine or maybe the water had got to my brain but the light seemed to dance above me. I could faintly smile before again losing myself in the abyss that was unconsciousness. I then woke up again as Dad, Mum and Kai were crying. The funny thing was, I was looking at them and myself. I looked at my hands and they were transparent.
" Am, Am I dead, " I said and my voice was whispering in the wind like a hollow echo. Thats when I saw Kai kissing my forehead. I woke up back in my body gasping for air. I was gripping the railings and coughing heavily. I was then submerged in a frenzy of hugs.
" Guys, what happened? " I said licking my lips feeling the salt on them.
" They said you were dead, " dad whispered into my hair and I stiffened.
" But, how am I here? " I asked looking back at them. They all shrugged and Kai looked a little embarrassed about the kiss. It was kinda cute, cue mental slap. Unfortunately they had to leave me in hospital. Some time in the night I heard a rustle. I had been sleeping lightly so I was wide awake when I heard it. I went to go collect my sword but cursed when it wasn't there. I looked around and out came Zelena. She placed metal bars around me. I struggled and wriggled but it was useless, doesn't mean I stopped. Zelena cackled.
" Sorry haven't been around, dear, " she said, " Your trust in Emma Swan is quite touching, I need trust like that, " she said.
" So what! " I yelled tired of her cryptic messages.
" I'm going to give you fake memories, that I raised you, your mother left you and stole Zoey away from us, " she said pacing around the room, " I'll make sure everyone you ever cared about will make you sick to your stomach, " she sneered. She went to go pet my cheek so I did the only thing retaliate and bit her. She jumped back shaking her hand. I smirked at my small victory. She waved her hand and all my precious memories left my body.

" Morning Zelena, " I said bringing in some breakfast to her bed room. She woke up and smiled at me.
" Morning Gemma, " she sat up and started to eat breakfast. I swished my hand and everything was clean. Pleased with my work I left the room to get ready for some more tutoring. She told me about my history. My mother left me with Zelena and she then had a mental breakdown and has brainwashed everyone to think Zelena was evil, but she was the kindest person ever! She had then stole Zelena's real child and took care of her claiming Zelena left her. I despised this woman, how could she ever say such things about Zelena. She looked after me, kept me clothed and fed and a roof over my head. I was doing something in the living room and all I heard was.
" Surprise attack! " I fell into the couch and started giggling as Zelena started tickling me.
" P-P-PLEASE ST-STOP! " I said through the hysterics. When she finally stopped and turned to go away I got my revenge. We were both out of breath by the time we had finished our war so we just lay on the ground.
" I don't know how to say this but, " Zelena started, " I think we should go into town, " I sat up right.
" Are you crazy?! " I asked. Zelena chuckled at my reaction.
" Well if we have a shot of convincing them about the true story then we need to at least confront Regina, " the name made me shiver. I nodded though as it was the right thing to do. I got dressed into some jeans and a hoodie and wore a gun and a sword. I stood outside and waited for Zelena. She came out in a buisness skirt, a green blouse and a black blazer. We teleported into town and most people gawked. I felt pretty uneasy at people looking in my direction. A woman actually collapases into tears and a man with hook for a hand looked like he was gonna hug me. I took a gulp and looked around.
" Summer! " A kid about two years younger than me hugged me. I stood there awkwardly.
" I-I think you have the wrong person, " I smiled at him and he looked at me.
" What have you done to her! " he shouted at Zelena tugging at my sleeve.
" Hey kid, she looked after me for as long as I can remember, my mother left me and then took her real daughter, " I glanced up at Zelena, " We're here to set things right, " I smiled. The woman who had collapsed crying was now filled with rage and anger. She had short brown hair that matched mine.
" What did she do to you? Your Summer! My daughter! " she said like it was plainly obvious.
" Regina, " Zelena said in a low voice. My eyes widened in anger and I drew my sword. She looked really hurt but I couldn't explain why.
" Wheres Zelena's child?! " I shouted at her. Again she stood there hurt. The man approached me and I shifted my wait to turn the sword to him.
" Summer, lass listen to me and your Mum, " he edged towards me.
" I'm Gemma, whoever this Summer is, that's not me! "
His heart seemed to break a little. The woman pushed out her hand and Zelena went flying. She landed on a bin and fell over. I gripped my sword tightly.
" I said what have you done to her?! " she yelled angrily and I stood her path. She was a bit taken back but kept walking.
" We didn't come here to hurt anyone, " I said and she got closer and closer. I teleported Zelena away. She then stopped walking and all the rage in her emptied.
" You remember? " the man with one hand said.
" No! I don't want you hurting my friend, " I said and then looked at him, " And dial it down on the eyeliner and leather. " I raised my eyebrow.
" Please don't leave me, " Regina reached out but I moved away.
" You left me! " I shouted and tears were streaming down her cheeks.
" Fine! That parts right, but I never took her child, she got pregnant and ruined my life until I realised that the man she got pregnant with wasn't my true love, " she had quietened down. I shook my head.
" That's what you think, I beg to differ, " and with that I left to the most comforting place. There was a place in the forest were there was a huge dirt cliffs with rocks underneath and the sea crashed onto the rocks. I sat against one of the rocks and then I heard a angry yell of frustration and backed away. He then began to sob an angry sob of emotion and I snuck up behind him.
" Hello? " I asked he turned around his eyes widened, " I swear if you call me Sum- " he cut me off.
" No...it's ok, " he said quietly still looking at me with disbelief. I sat down beside him.
" Why are you so upset? "
" I just lost someone I held dear and well, they came back but they weren't the same as they were when they left, " he chuckled, " You could say she was a completely different person, " I nodded.
" I say keep being friends, " he looked to me, " If you really care for this person then they will still be the same on the inside and that all that really matters, " I said looked out to the sea and he took a calm breath.
" Thanks for that, what's your name? " he asked.
" Gemma, " I put out my hand to shake it and he shook it.
" Will I see you here tomorrow? " he had a hopeful glimmer in his eyes and I nodded.
" Wouldn't miss it for the world, "
