Chapter 23

I woke up in what was supposed to be my room. If I hadn't blown it, if I hadn't given in to darkness. To late now, it's already corrupted me. I looked around and saw Henry sleeping in a chair. His slumped body was moving slightly as he breathed. I smiled softly and sat up. What happened? I remember screaming and shouting and then, black. Henry stirred from his own slumber and ran over to me, hugging me. I hugged back.
" Hey bud, what happened? " I asked softly. He sat beside me once he ended the hug.
" Mum sent you to sleep, you've been out for days. We were trying to find a way to take the darkness out of you, " he said. I shot him a confused look.
" Just get Merlin, " I shrugged. Henry looked down to the floor with a sad expression. I placed my hand on his shoulder.
" He passed away in his sleep, " he told me quietly. My eyes widened, Merlin was my only way, I have to get this darkness out of me. The only other way is to be killed with the dagger. I got off the bed and went to go see him. He was laying in his coffin, dressed in black. I gripped the side of the coffin tightly in my anger. Damn it! Damn it all! I let out a sigh, back to the drawing board. I caught sight of red on Merlins neck. Curiosity got the best of me and I leaned over to check it. It was like red blotches, something he didn't originally have. I called in everyone to take a look.
" Poison, " Emma muttered under her breath. Snow gasped. Who would want to kill Merlin? Ellen and Kai ran in. Kai looked angry while Ellen looked dramatically distraught. Ellen then looked to me in anger.
" You! You did this! You're the dark one! Who else would do this? " she screamed at my face. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist.
" First off, I don't want to be the Dark One, it's a living hell. I've though of suicide just to end everything going through my head! Secondly, this is not the time, instead of pointing fingers lets look for evidence. Thirdly I've been a bit busy being put to sleep, just in case you hadn't noticed, " I snapped. She kept glaring at me but didn't speak a word. Kai wasn't listening, he was gazing at the face of his dead friend. I hugged Mum and Dad. I missed them, so much. I was breaking through the darkness, I need to keep going. Doc came in and identified the poison was indeed from the Enchanted Forest. The poison was instant and painless, apparently. I was pacing in my bedroom trying to figure this all out. Why poison Merlin? What threat was he? Ellen and Kai had been so close to him, being from Camelot. I looked around and found a belt, a sheathe and my dagger. I tied the belt around my waist and put the sheathe on the belt and slipped the dagger inside. This has to stay beside my side. If it fell into the wrong hands it could be disastrous. Zelena, she had done it before, I don't doubt she would love to do it again. Perhaps she's the one who poisoned Merlin. Makes some sense. Should I confront her? I mean, I am the Dark One, I have the power to defeat her. I don't know though, she might get he dagger, and I can't let that happen. I went to Mum and Dads room to speak to them about it. I heard them Tallinn so I pressed my ear to the door.
" We can't let anyone near Summer, " Dad said firmly. I gulped, it was true yet hurt that he didn't trust me.
" We do this with her or not at all, " Mum recoiled. I swung the door open and looked Dad in the eye.
" I'm with Mum, " I told him. He sighed, about to argue, but soon he realised it was pointless so threw his hands in the air which then landed by his sides.
" Fine, " he gave up. I smiled jerkily at him.
" Where are we going? " I asked them as Mum pulled me along. She smirked deviously and kept pulling.
