Anger never builds; it only tears down. In the heat of a single moment, it can feel like strength, an armor to hide behind. But when the fire fades, all that's left are the ashes of what once mattered. Anger doesn't solve anything-it devours patienc...

There’s a strange calm in destruction — like knowing the worst has already come.
Chapter 44: The Night
The city lights shimmered against the hood of Jungkook’s car, reflecting off its sleek surface like scattered stars. The night air was cool, scented faintly with rain and blooming jasmine from the nearby street garden. Laughter spilled between Jungkook and Taehyung as they stepped out of the car, the easy, unguarded kind that came only after a day well spent together.
They had just finished dinner at one of Jungkook’s favorite quiet restaurants — the kind hidden from the noise of the city, where time seemed to slow down and the world felt just theirs. And now, as they stood under the soft glow of the streetlight, the calm of the evening wrapped around them like a quiet promise.
“It would have probably been better if we traveled overseas,” Jungkook said, his tone casual but his eyes gleaming with playful intent. He walked around to the other side of the car, his steps light and deliberate. “There are plenty of beautiful places waiting for us. Paris, maybe. Or Greece. I can already picture you standing by the ocean.”
Taehyung blinked, his lips curling into a small, amused smile. “Don’t you think that would cost us too much?” he asked, his voice teasing but soft.
Jungkook laughed under his breath as he opened the back passenger door, reaching inside.
“So what?” he said, glancing at him with a grin that made Taehyung’s heart skip a beat. “If it’s with you, it wouldn’t be a big deal.”
From the seat, Jungkook pulled out a bouquet — roses and white tulips, tied neatly with a satin ribbon. The petals caught the lamplight, glowing faintly like they were made of light themselves.
He turned toward Taehyung and held it out, his voice gentler now. “This is for you.”
Taehyung blinked in surprise, his expression softening as he accepted it.
“You didn’t have to…” he murmured, brushing a thumb against the velvety petals.
“I wanted to,” Jungkook said simply. “You like flowers, don’t you? They remind me of you. Beautiful, and a little hard to ignore.”
Taehyung looked away, flustered, though the faint smile tugging at his lips betrayed him.
“Still,” he said, his tone quieter now, “aren’t you busy dealing with Gaeul? She’s not in jail yet.”
Jungkook sighed but kept his gaze on him.
“That doesn’t mean I can’t take a breath,” he said, stepping closer. The space between them narrowed, filled with warmth and the faint scent of Taehyung’s cologne. “We’ve both been through too much already. Maybe it’s okay to have a little fun — just us.”
