"So... does this mean that I get to be out of school for the rest of the year?" I asked in a hopeful tone.
Dad scowled. "No."
"But- but, you and I have just been through a traumatic experience. We got kidnapped." I pointed to my thigh. "I got cut."
Velvet looked up from her computer, still typing. "I would hardly call that a traumatic experience. A traumatic experience would be seeing something like..." she held up a photograph of a headless, disfigured body positioned as if it were giving birth. I think the owner of the body's head was between it's leg and her, or rather his, breasts were... shaped to look like a woman's breasts, or at least a parody of them. Another body was kneeling next to the 'woman', headless as well, but this one was clearly a male. A pole was shoved through the body so it could kneel. "... something like this."
I suppose if someone were looking at our faces at the moment, it would be quite comical. One could probably see how we are... attempting to process the image before us.
It took us a moment, before we both reacted. "Oh, my god." We both said together.
"Yeah, I know. Two males, one in their mid to late twenties, the other one in his early thirties. The murderer was a serial killer who was recreating scenes such as this one. Killed 12 men in total, nearly 14 had we not caught him in time."
"Velvet, stop talking."
"My point is, sweetie, that you are mentally stable and that you should be able to go to school."
Dad nodded, "Thank you, Velvet, for agreeing with me. You can go back to school in a week. I've already called your teachers to let them know that you will not be in school for the remainder of this week."
Well, I suppose that's better than nothing.
A/N: I am starting school tomorrow. On a Friday. However, I probably will faint on the stairwells as I get to my classes. My school has little air conditioning and it gets really hot on the third floors.
