"Cheers to a successful movie." Velvet announced, pouring root beer into two clear glass mugs. I grinned, clinking our glasses together.
While we had some good old fashion root beer, dad and some of the other adults had wine and various shots of alcohol. Maybe I can snatch some vodka later, I've never had vodka or whiskey. Good time to try.
"No." Velvet said, smacking the back of my head.
"What? I didn't say anything!" I protested, sipping my root beer.
She grinned. "It isn't that hard to see that you were staring at the vodka bottle at the far end of the table. Knowing you, you would probably swipe it, have a glass, and replace it somewhere close to where it originally was. Either that or you'll take a wine bottle from the downstairs cellar while everyone else is preoccupied watching our home movies."
"I would not!" Yeah, I would. She isn't far off on that actually.
"Q." She said, hands on her hips.
I scowled, gulping down my root beer. "Kill joy."
Velvet laughed, sipping her own root beer. I sat back, enjoying the party I had planned two weeks before the official release to dad's movie. Sure, Shame was an adult movie, but I had no problems with it. I just had to show up on the film days that didn't require any nakedness. But, damn that movie was like 90% sex and life's sexual frustrations.
That and I cannot believe that dad had brought his mother to watch. However, it was absolutely embarrassing for me to watch. Especially when either dad or one of his co stars had to cover my eyes and ears.
Velvet watched it once. As expected of a sociopath, her face was blank throughout. No one could tell what she was thinking.
"Stop thinking about me. Your staring is unbecoming."
"I was not star-"
"Don't even try."
I groaned. "But I wasn't!"
