Chapter 18

"I'm Mia." she firmly stated.

Andi rose a brow. "Yeah, but how did you get here? Are you a..." she moved closer to her ear, and softly whispered, "...witch?"

Mia shook her head. "No, but I hear that one of your friends are just like me. I thought I was the only one. I think his name is... Dominic? Daniel? Denver?"

"But Daniel's human."

"Aren't we all?" Alfie said from behind them, chewing on a bag of Doritos. Andi growled at him for eating up all the food. "You guys are so dumb." Cue the eye roll.

But wait... She never saw a bag of Doritos in the kitchen...

She blocked his way back to his room. "Hold up, cookie monster. Where did you get those Doritos?"

Alfie was reluctant to reveal at first, but after a few threats from Andi, he finally admitted, "I got it from one of your friends." A sly smirk appeared on his face, knowing that the tomboy would be on full rage if he said so. He munched on the chips in front of Andi before walking away.

"He meant Diego." Katie corrected, pointing out a finger. Oh Katie, always showing off her big brains even if they weren't that big.

Andi gasped. "Oh, so she's a Kanay?" Mia nodded.

She hovered over to Katie, whispering into her ear, "So is Mia the new Maddie?"

Katie quickly shook her head. "She is NOTHING like Maddie and she is NOT a Panther." She took a Panther pose and stated, "I'm the new head Panther!"

"Oooh!" Sophie squealed, raising a finger which pointed upstairs. "I want to see Maddie!"

Andi grumbled. "She's asleep." Then an idea hit her. "Just try wake her up if you wanna. If you can't, I have a pail bucket of water available anytime."

She led the way upstairs and into the former head Panther's room, who was still asleep with her Do Not Disturb sleeping mask. Quite predictable if you ask me.

"Maddie," poke, "Maddie," poke, "Maddie," poke, "Maddie," poke, "Dammit, Maddie just wake up. Your Panthers are here."

Maddie quietly grumbled. "Yeah, right."

"Hi Maddie!" Soph squealed.

In half a second, Maddie was able to jump out of bed, pull out her sleeping mask, and plaster a big smile on her face. She scooped her fellow Panthers in a big hug while Patricia, Joy, Mara, and Andi look at them weirdly.

After Patricia's complaint of the Panthers being noisy, the trio + Andi & Mia moved to the living room to share their stories about what happened so far. Maddie's stories were filled with complaints on how the house looked old and ancient, which creeped her out, but Katie and Sophie's were filled with how Iridium High was better now (hiding the fact that it's because Maddie wasn't there.

Sophie then remembered, "Oooh! I forgot to tell you that we didn't come here alone."

"Who came with you then? Other than Mia."

"I did." Nurse Lily said sterntly, popping out of the door. "You girls have a lot of explaining to do to the Council."
